Background and History
Ancestral Rules and Lost Knowledge
Indra recalls teaching his sons and daughters alike and forbidding the reduction of Uchiha women to childbearing tools. To preserve the bloodline, he also prohibited marriage outside the clan after the fifth generation; his recollections describe bloodline-limit clans as the acceptable source of outside partners 9 11.
The contemporary clan has departed from those rules. Some members never awaken the Sharingan, women are largely excluded from combat training, and children born to captive outsiders are incorporated into the Uchiha. Indra attributes these developments to diluted ancestry and the clan’s unwillingness to allocate resources to women 11.
Its technical inheritance has also deteriorated. Indra finds that the material Tajima supplies amounts to less than a tenth of the ninjutsu he remembers leaving behind. Some surviving combat techniques are withheld from ordinary clansmen 18.
Indra’s Return
Tajima persuades his estranged eldest son, Uchiha Natsu, to return by offering a possible future as Clan Head and unrestricted access to the Ancestral Shrine library. Indra, occupying Natsu’s fourteen-year-old body, returns for the Wish System’s mission to alter Madara’s fate rather than out of loyalty to the clan 2.
The elders initially oppose supporting him because of his mixed Uchiha–Kaguya ancestry and the pressure on limited resources. They reconsider after learning that he has three-tomoe eyes, extensive combat experience, and control over the Uchiha remaining in the Land of Fire—all without having received clan resources 3.
Indra’s return quickly undermines the established hierarchy. He defeats dozens of young clansmen, overpowers the Second and Fourth Elders, and demonstrates instant healing that the leadership wants to obtain for battlefield use 4 5 6.
Mine Campaign and Multi-Clan Battle
Assigned to address Senju harassment in the Land of Lightning, Indra instead detours with Madara toward a Senju encampment near a mine connected to Uchiha territory. His Uchiha and Kaguya retainers infiltrate the camp, capture Senju—including Kawarama—and seize supplies. Indra claims the gold mine as his own property rather than surrendering it to clan control 7 9 10.
The disappearance of both Senju captives and Tajima’s sons brings search parties into conflict. Senju forces enlist nearby Sarutobi and Shimura ninja, who pursue Xing, Yue, and their escorts. Madara and Indra rescue the brothers, and Indra heals the surviving Uchiha 13 15 16 17.
Indra then hires the Ino–Shika–Cho clans through Chinoike cover to drive the Senju from the Land of Lightning. Conflicting assumptions about alliances turn the operation into a four-way melee involving the Senju, Uchiha, Ino–Shika–Cho, and Blood Pond Clan. Indra kills anyone obstructing him, including Uchiha; roughly 60 percent of the Uchiha who joined from their encampment die 17 21.
The leadership nevertheless discusses the outcome as an Uchiha victory and seeks the prisoners and resources. Reports of Indra killing clansmen are disputed, while Hachishaku later repeats the cover story that the victims were infiltrating spies despite privately disbelieving it 23 27.
Reform and Leadership Confrontation
The elders attempt to keep Indra within the clan through marriage. Chiri, a twelve-year-old orphan, volunteers to serve him because she hopes to become a ninja rather than enter a conventional marriage. Indra instead gives her chakra-extraction instruction and begins training her 23 28 30.
Later, the discovery that a girl recorded as Osamu can extract chakra and spar with Izuna prompts scrutiny of the clan’s talent assessments. Tajima orders training and battlefield assignments for talented girls, while the Fourth Elder investigates possible misconduct in the testing process 36.
Attempts to assert council authority over Indra end violently. After the elders question his loyalty and block his departure, he unleashes a lightning attack that collapses the Meeting Hall. The elders survive but are left bound to the ground in a kneeling position 38 40.
Renewed Senju Clash
Senju surveillance of Indra and Madara escalates into an ambush after their observers see Indra create a Space Sealing Scroll. Izuna joins the fighting, and Indra nearly kills Tobirama before thrown weapons deflect his sword 48 49 50.
Tajima and Butsuma arrive with reinforcements after learning their sons have left their respective compounds. Their intervention brings the conflict directly before both clan leaders 50.

Culture and Internal Politics
- Strength earns recognition. The elders accept their defeats without excuses and acknowledge Indra’s superiority despite hostility toward his ancestry 5.
- Blood purity affects support. Indra’s mixed heritage initially makes the council reluctant to divide resources for him; later discussions reveal wider unrest among mixed-blood Uchiha 3 36.
- The Sharingan carries social authority. Naoto weaponizes its association with Uchiha ancestry to silence challenges after the battlefield killings. His argument is explicitly twisted reasoning, not reliable proof of parentage 22.
- Women receive unequal opportunities. Most female ninja occupy support roles, and Fuliu fears that returning to the clan would mean domestic work and marriage 11 13.
- Marriage is a political tool. The elders propose it as a means of securing Indra’s loyalty and access to his abilities 23 35.
- Clan belonging remains strong. Many members reject allegations of Indra killing Uchiha as Senju slander, readily accepting the spy explanation 27.
- Family loyalty can override orders. Madara refuses Tajima’s request to spy on Indra or obtain his healing technique through betrayal 8.
Abilities and Training
Sharingan and Genjutsu
- The Sharingan is the clan’s hereditary ocular ability, but not every member awakens it. Three-tomoe users are usually adults, making Indra’s apparent attainment at fourteen exceptional 3 11.
- Documented awakenings occur under danger, grief, anger, and threats to belonging 13 16 21 22.
- Applications include copying ninjutsu, immobilizing opponents through genjutsu, and extracting information 15 19 49.
- Equal tomoe counts do not guarantee equal ocular power: Indra forcibly deactivates the Second Elder’s three-tomoe Sharingan 38.
- Genjutsu does not require the Sharingan, although the eyes enhance it 30.
Fire Release and Swordsmanship
- Fire Release is the Uchiha’s recognized specialty; Tajima’s instruction to Madara centers largely on fire techniques and clan swordsmanship 32 43.
- The Great Fireball Technique is treated as a combat staple, although Indra identifies its original purpose as cooking 18 29 32.
- Combat-oriented techniques such as Majestic Destroyer Flame survive only in limited numbers and are not freely available to clansmen 18.
Indra’s Expanded Instruction
- Indra explains chakra and hand-seal principles so students can improve techniques rather than merely reproduce instructions 7.
- His training introduces other elemental releases, practical chakra applications, sealing, intelligence work, and resource management 10 14 20 32 48.
- The methods include dangerous sparring and repeated genjutsu scenarios. Madara improves, but develops intense suspicion after repeatedly experiencing betrayal and death in illusions 18 30 46.
- Complex combination techniques are not suitable for everyone: the Thunder God Ash Technique requires several chakra natures, precise control, and substantial reserves 18 19.
Facilities, Equipment, and Resources
- Clan Compound — Contains the Clan Leader’s residence, streets, training grounds, and Meeting Hall 2 3 27.
- Uchiha Ancestral Shrine Library — Holds inherited records; Tajima offers Indra unrestricted access as an inducement to return 2.
- Ninjutsu Archives — Include old technique drafts and sealing-jutsu records, despite substantial losses of ancestral knowledge 7 18 32.
- Gunbai — Kept in the Meeting Hall; Indra takes it and uses it to shield Izuna during his attack on the elders 38.

- Outposts and Garrisons — Include a Land of Lightning outpost and territorial access near Tsukiumi Plains 7 9 12.
- Scarce Supplies — Limited training resources and worsening grain shortages shape council decisions and winter planning 3 32 36.
- Asagiri Network — Indra’s separately controlled base supplies intelligence and supports his retainers. Its mines, captives, and provisions are not automatically clan property 2 10 17 26.
External Relationships
- Senju Clan — Principal enemy. Raids, kidnappings, searches, and retaliatory fighting repeatedly escalate the feud 7 13 21 50.
- Kaguya Clan / Kaguya Hall — Natsu’s maternal connection provides death-sworn retainers loyal to Indra. Their cooperation with his Uchiha followers does not erase hostility between the two groups 9 10.
- Sarutobi Clan — Supports Senju search operations against the Uchiha; some members surrender after the rescue of Xing and Yue 13 15 16.
- Shimura Clan — Joins the same anti-Uchiha pursuit and suffers captures during Indra’s counterattack 13 16.
- Ino–Shika–Cho Clans — Hired by Indra through intermediaries to expel Senju ninja, then drawn into the confused multi-clan battle; survivors surrender to him 17 21 22.
- Chinoike / Blood Pond Clan — Provides cover for Indra’s hiring operation. Aomatsu withdraws from the battlefield after witnessing Indra’s indiscriminate violence 17 20 21.
- Hagoromo Clan — Its nearby destruction alarms the Uchiha elders and increases the urgency of addressing the clan’s security problems 35.
