Bad Cop, Good Cop

"What useful clues did you uncover?" the Wasp Queen asked.

"Of course. The Black Ant Queen sent me in to uncover the truth behind the Naga Race's rise. In just three or four hundred years, they rapidly took over the entire ocean. That was indeed highly abnormal."

"And what did you find?"

Mika swallowed. His gaze suddenly hardened, and he cupped his hands solemnly. "I did not fail my mission. After lurking within the Naga Race for many days, I have found the truth behind their rise. To be honest, I found traces of the Demon Race among the Naga Race!"

"The Demon Race!"

The Wasp Queen was startled. The several Bee-person guardians around her all frowned. One of them, a Bee-person guardian holding a shield, stepped forward. "The Demon Race is the Order Alliance's greatest enemy. If traces of the Demon Race have been discovered, the Alliance envoy must be notified. Pioneer Mika, answer me. Did you clearly see the Demon Race?"

"Of course!"

Mika spoke righteously. "Only within the last century did the Naga Race finally reveal some cracks. When I infiltrated the Naga Imperial City, I discovered that the Naga Queen frequently conducted a cruel kind of ritual. They used passing travelers and members of other races as living sacrifices. Not only were the scenes bloody, even criminals from their own tribe were made into sacrifices! What race besides demons would demand offerings of living people?"

The Bee-person guards fell silent upon hearing this. Mika had not personally seen the Demon Race, but he was right. Among all the civilizations beyond the realm, aside from demons, only certain cults required living offerings. Yet even those cults were forces the Order Alliance had specifically named for extermination!
