In the adjoining suite, Anne Otto von West Berlin burst into laughter, abandoning all decorum.
Had Jimte not been supporting her, the Marquis of West Berlin's second daughter would surely have been on the floor, pounding it with her hands.
It was simply too funny.
The lady had never imagined Carral could be so devious.

Supporting his fiancée, Jimte watched Annie laugh so happily and could not help the slight lift of his lips-the last time Annie had laughed this happily had been when they left West Berlin, hadn't it?

Annie had always been worrying about him.
So Jimte did not tell his fiancée that Carral, clever fellow that he was, only appeared to be making unreasonable demands. In reality, he was screening people.
Screening the watchers!
Most watchers possessed not only keen senses, but stamina and willpower far beyond those of ordinary people.
Even if they tried to disguise themselves, those traits would show in a face-to-face encounter like this.
At the very least, Carral could certainly spot them.
And that was Carral's second task tonight: identify the watchers, then put them to a little use.

While the ladies were changing, Carral had already used the watchers' use of Communication Stones as cover to notify Arthur with his own Communication Stone.
One could say Carral's assignment was already more than halfway complete.
