The Tyranids not only airdropped spore pods, but also sent numerous Tyranid Swarm warships through the atmosphere to fight high above the planet.
After descending to a certain altitude, these Tyranid Bio-ships opened their abdominal cavities, revealing neatly arranged rows of spore bombs.
Like heavy bombers, these Bio-ships dropped their spore bombs.
To ensure the carpet bombing covered every stretch of Ork territory, the spore bombs spread out in the sky like dandelions, carrying out their bombardment in orderly succession. The Tyranids' spore bombs were alive, too.
The entire Ork continent was under bombardment. Spore pods soon landed in the bombed areas, allowing Warrior Bugs to launch surprise attacks and establish bases.
The Greenskins had prepared for this as well, building sturdy underground fortifications. The bombardment could only destroy their surface defenses; its effects underground were far smaller.
The heavy anti-air weapons were all protected by Force Fields, which an offensive like this from the Tyranids could not breach.
The Swarm Consciousness knew this too, so once again, it launched an all-out offensive across the entire continent. Fighting raged on every beachhead.
The fierce landing battles lasted several days. Even the Orks' sturdy defensive lines inevitably developed gaps, and the Tyranids began establishing forward bases in certain regions of the continent.
Aboard the Badwater, Blackheart Boss flew into a rage. "Have these bugs gone mad? They've blown up so many of me forts! If I hadn't sent all me ships out, I'd go up into space and give 'em a proper fight!"
He reckoned he could manage for a while, but if the bugs kept bombing him like this, his Anti-Aircraft Position really would not hold out for long.
So he ordered the Badwater up the river into the center of the continent, and its Tesla Coil rose once more.
