The pleas were all identical: they were under attack by Ork monsters that surged at them like an endless tide.
Capello was the political capital of Euronia III's Southern Hemisphere, as well as a military city with formidable defenses and considerable industrial capacity. Naturally, the Southern Hemisphere's Garrison Force headquarters had been established there.
Inside headquarters, Chuck had completely lost his nerve. The overwhelming flood of calls for aid left him utterly at a loss.
"It doesn't make sense... how can there be so many Orks? The entire Defense Force has been hunting them down almost without rest all this time... why are there still so many...?"
"General, sir, the governor wishes to speak with you!" The communications officer's words snapped Chuck out of his daze.
"Quick... put him through!"
Soon, Cornwall's stern face appeared on the communications terminal.
"General Chuck, I believe you owe me an explanation for the current situation! I gave you everything I could: soldiers, equipment, publicity, funding, and more..."
Cornwall's tone grew harsher. "And how have you repaid me? With reports of innocent civilians being killed and wounded? With cities and vehicles under attack? Or with those Ork beasts that have suddenly appeared?"
"I... I... please let me explain, Governor. There must have been some mistake..." Chuck stammered, not knowing where to begin.
"I no longer want to hear your explanations. I will continue supporting you as before, but you must hold the front as best you can. Do not let the Orks cross the equator into the prosperous, densely populated Northern Hemisphere."
"If you fail..." Cornwall's voice turned icy. "You will be the first general I execute in this war against the Orks."
