"": ""Put the skull down, Xiao Shan." Luo Feng got out of bed. His gaze was cold and grim as he studied the large sheep on the floor, scrutinizing it with suspicion and a trace of wariness. Yet he did not suspect Luo Bin.
Luo Bin came to his senses and put the skullcap, horns and all, back in place.
The skull fitted into the opening, but something looked strange. There were several holes, as though something had been inserted into them to pry it open.
"Isn't this too bizarre? It's clearly a dead sheep, yet Xiao Shan saw it as a person?" Gu Ya still sounded shaken.
"Yes." Luo Feng pressed his fingers to his brow before continuing, "We don't understand these things well enough to begin with. No matter how strange they are, it shouldn't surprise us."
Gu Ya had nothing to say.
"Go to sleep, Xiao Shan. Don't look at it. Even if you notice anything else wrong, don't touch it. Wake me up," Luo Feng added.
"Understood, Dad." Luo Bin felt deeply uneasy. The sense of release inside him was so powerful that he even wanted to slice through the sheep's flesh some more.
But how could he dare? Luo Feng did not suspect him now, but that did not mean he would remain unsuspecting if Luo Bin did something even more horrifying.
He pulled up the already filthy bedding at the corner of the bed, wiped the blood from his hands, and lay down under Luo Feng's watchful gaze.
Then Gu Ya and Luo Feng lay down on the bed as well.
Pretending to sleep, Luo Bin stole another glance at the sheep's corpse on the floor. Now it was nothing more than a sheep's corpse.
His memories began to rewind,
