The Velociraptors stood 3.8 meters tall. Their sharp claws could easily slice through their prey's skin, and they attacked with both claws and bites.
Fast, enduring, and agile, these dinosaurs were the ideal choice for cavalry mounts.
Driven by the Human Race, several thousand Velociraptors charged toward the dwarf army.
Each Velociraptor carried two members of the Human Race: one responsible for Beast Control, the other for attacking.
The warriors held Bronze War Bows and carried two baskets of arrows on their backs. The Beast Tamers also helped carry two baskets of arrows, with Iron Swords at their waists, ensuring sustained ranged firepower.
This was a typical Mounted Archer unit.
The Mounted Archers were responsible for ranged fire support, reconnaissance, pinning down the enemy, opening engagements, and other vital tasks.
The Velociraptor unit moved nimbly through the forest. The great fire had only just died down, and many patches on the ground were still smoldering.
As the organized dinosaur army marched through, it trampled out a path.
Seeing the dwarf army fighting among themselves ahead, the Velociraptor Mounted Archers, who had been about to draw their bows, were dumbfounded.
What was going on?
Forget it. Just attack.
They continued running forward, loosing one sharp arrow after another.
The archers focused solely on shooting, while the Beast Tamers guided the Velociraptors around obstacles without pause, advancing toward the dwarves' rear.
All they needed to do was aim, fire, and repeat.
The ground began to tremble. Some dwarves fighting over the liquor suddenly wondered why this felt so familiar.
This feeling...
"Ah!"
"The Giant Beast Legion is back!"
"Why is it starting again? Is this never going to end? Ow!"
The terrifying Giant Beast Legion slowly approached, and the earth trembled beneath it.
There were even more this time. The Human Race had brought out all its elite forces, advancing in a mighty procession.
The Human Race looked at the little dwarves before them and let out scornful laughter.
The dwarves staggered at the sight of the Prehistoric Giant Beasts before them.
The dwarf army faced the human army with their backsides.
Yes, the moment they saw the giant beasts, they turned and ran. After the previous attack, the dwarves' hearts were filled with terror.
They craned their necks to look at the enormous, scale-covered, soft-bodied creatures more than ten times their height. Those strange eyes looked so sinister.
The dwarf warriors trembled all over, their legs feeling weak, barely able to move.
They stumbled toward the rear, and another massive stampede broke out in the dwarf army, throwing it into utter chaos.
Just then, a figure appeared in the sky, ignoring the medal's warning:
"Great lord of this planet, the Dwarf Race is willing to surrender."
"Since the Dwarf Race first came into being, we have been the finest craftsmen in the universe. We can contribute our strength to the development of your planet's civilization. I, Bo'er, as the Creator God, am willing to accept any punishment. I implore you to stop the slaughter."
Zhang Yang stared at the planetary lord who had suddenly appeared in the sky, feeling bewildered. He surrendered? What kind of move was this?
[Congratulations! Star Lord Bo'er has chosen to surrender to you. You have won the Star War and have the right to deal with the defeated party however you wish.] [You may choose to devour the defeated Star Lord! You will gain 1,000 energy points. You may also choose to enslave him to assist you in managing your civilization's races.] [Congratulations! You may choose to advance to a second-tier civilization at any time!] [After advancing to a second-tier civilization, Blue Star will ascend to the "Local Interstellar Cloud."] [The "Oort Cloud," where you currently reside, is located in the most desolate region of the universe. As your civilization advances, you will gradually approach the universe's core. The closer you are to the center of the universe, the more energy points you can absorb, and the higher their energy level.] [All functions of the Starry Sky Virtual Platform are now officially available. You can communicate with other Star Lords, trade, form contracts, enjoy entertainment, issue challenges, wage Star Wars, and more.]
Following the other side's surrender, a string of mechanical voices suddenly sounded from the medal.
"This war is finally over." Zhang Yang breathed a sigh of relief. Without the Beast Taming Skill, defeat would have been certain.
Their weapons were two eras behind. Was this the power of inherited knowledge?
The Human Race had no inherited knowledge. Zhang Yang could only slowly explore the direction of their future development.
Those who came before planted the trees; those who came after enjoyed their shade. The species templates left by the Cosmic Elders Council had already been optimized to the utmost.
All they needed to do was evolve methodically, unlock the technology tree, and climb upward step by step.
Yet Zhang Yang felt that something about this was wrong.
There was no time to think it through. He had to deal with the battle before him first.
A giant slowly took shape in the sky. With the Star War over, his divine power had returned.
Zhang Yang declared majestically, "I, the lord of Blue Star, accept the Dwarf Race's surrender."
Being bound by rules felt awful. He was still too weak to have any right to resist. He needed time to grow, and so did the Human Race.
Looking at the giant forming before him, Bo'er grew increasingly deferential, lowering himself as far as he could.
After all, the lord of this planet could decide whether he lived or died. Still, he was brimming with confidence.
Bo'er began speaking to Zhang Yang without pause. The gist was that he had brought his entire race to surrender, could help Zhang Yang manage the planet, and could govern the Dwarf Race. He was the Dwarf God, the finest craftsman among the dwarves, and the Dwarf Race could not do without him.
In truth, he did not care about his so-called race at all. They were merely bargaining chips. Offering allegiance with an entire race in tow would earn him far more consideration than arriving with only two or three strays.
An hour later.
A Human Race soldier on the ground was nearly asleep. The king of this alien race kept moving his mouth without making a sound, yammering on and on.
Bo'er's words poured out like a rushing river, but he grew puzzled as Zhang Yang remained silent.
Was there a language barrier?
That couldn't be.
Planetary lords communicated directly through their minds. No one else could hear them.
A voice appeared in his mind as Zhang Yang said flatly, "Finished?"
"I'll leave you with one saying: those not of our race are bound to have different hearts. Blue Star needs only one god."
Gods should never meet. A former Creator God suddenly reduced to someone else's subordinate would harbor thoughts too difficult to fathom. He could not be allowed to remain.
Bo'er, the planetary lord of the Dwarf Race, shattered into fragments and slowly vanished into the air.
[Energy points +1,000] [Balance: 1,050 points]
Looking at the stunned Dwarf Race below, Zhang Yang spoke in a voice filled with majesty.
With a sweep of his great hand, every member of the Human Race and the Dwarf Race on Blue Star could hear his voice.
"The Dwarf Race invaded Blue Star and committed a heinous crime. They should have been executed and their race exterminated. However, in consideration of the hardships of survival and their voluntary surrender, they may receive a lighter punishment."
"From this day onward, the Dwarf Race shall be a race of sinners, subordinate to the Human Race. Humans shall be their masters, and they shall add their bricks and mortar to the development of the Human Race."
"Only after a thousand years may they regain their freedom."
As his words fell, the giant in the sky slowly dispersed into heaven and earth.
At the same time, he transmitted his voice to Xuanyuan Huangdi: "These million members of the Dwarf Race are all superb artisans. They can help advance the civilization of the Human Race."
Then his voice fell silent.
Xuanyuan Huangdi bowed respectfully in all four directions, then immediately ordered the army to march out. The vast force advanced into the distance.
And so, Xuanyuan Huangdi split up the nearly 1.4 million members of the Dwarf Race and distributed them throughout the Nine Provinces of Huaxia.
With this, the development of the Human Race's civilization opened a brand-new chapter.
Time passed. Ten years later.
