After driving off Night Wolf Venerable, the Insect Race suffered no more surprise attacks. With their base complete, they began expanding steadily.
Wherever the Insect Race went, Nusha's troops retreated without putting up a fight. Their expansion faced almost no resistance, until... they reached Sla River City.
Sla River City's steel walls, nearly a hundred meters high, were built against the mountains. With hundreds of massive energy cannons, dozens of defensive barriers, and a moat almost fifty meters wide, the city stood like a general bearing an enormous shield, firmly guarding the route into Nusha's interior.
The Insect Race army arrived beneath the city, while Nusha's troops lined the river. Looking at the dense mass of soldiers opposite them and the countless defensive installations along the bank, Noya frowned slightly and said to Badara:
"This won't be easy. Few of our insects can fight in water. Getting across this moat will be difficult."
Badara surveyed the surrounding terrain and said, "We'll drop insects between the ridges on either side and make our aerial forces the main assault. The army will cross the river once we break through the defenses on the walls."
Noya nodded. "That's our only option for now."
Under cover from the {Dark Eagles}, the Insect Race's {Air Sac Bugs} began forcing their way in to drop troops. Nusha's returning cannon fire was devastating, shooting down quite a few {Dark Eagles} outright.
Watching the dense antiaircraft fire, Badara initially wanted to destroy those guns, only to discover that even the {Scarabs'} cannon fire could not breach the walls' defenses.
Badara immediately changed tactics and sneered, "You built against the mountains? Then I'll blast those mountains flat."
At Badara's command, the {Cannon Golden Weavers} quickly moved into position and unleashed a furious bombardment on the mountains flanking Sla River
