Zhang Fan and Valaya stood aboard the Kronos, watching helplessly as diplomatic ships from hundreds of star systems headed for the Northern Realm. Some were even bringing their entire races.
Valaya had no idea what to say. They were simply marching to their deaths.
To everyone's surprise, the diplomatic ships entered the Aurora Race's blockade. The leaders who advocated surrendering to the Creator rejoiced. Many who had previously opposed surrender began to waver, and some even seemed eager to prepare diplomatic ships of their own.
Valaya asked in bewilderment, "Have they changed their strategy? Are they accepting surrender? Was my assessment wrong?"
Zhang Fan shook his head. "Snow White fought them and devoured one of them. Simply put, this Creator ordered them to wipe out all life in the Erl Universe without damaging the planets. My guess is that he's dissatisfied with his handiwork and wants to wipe the slate clean."
Valaya shook her head. "What kind of thinking is that? He created us. Now he doesn't like us, so he wants to wipe us out and start over?"
"What's there to get angry about? I've done things like that myself. Ants can never understand elephants."
Valaya asked curiously, "What does that mean?"
Zhang Fan explained, "Lower life-forms can't understand how higher life-forms think. Unfortunately, we're the lower life-forms this time. Pray. Pray that Kui's plan works."
Valaya glanced at Kui beside them and asked, "Do we really have to wait until the second stage? Can't we act now?"
Kui shook his head. "Anka is absorbing energy right now. Its surrounding defenses are at their strongest. Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
As they spoke, Shusha reported, "Overlord, the diplomatic fleets of the various races have suddenly begun retreating, but it looks like... they won't get the chance."
