The restaurant was out of the question, but buying a savory crepe, exchanging paper bills with the Program Crew, and scanning a shared bike were no problem.
Shen Lian had just picked out two bikes when a staff member came over to stick QR codes on them, then gestured for him to scan. Shen Lian raised his phone. Nine yuan an hour-what a rip-off!
They cycled down the road, a light breeze brushing past them and lovely scenery all around.
Chu Yilan rode a little closer. "Slow down."
"Sure. Huh? What's over there?" Keeping one hand on the handlebars, Shen Lian pointed toward a crowd not far away. Looking closer, he spotted camera operators from the Program Crew. "Hey, could that be Boss Feng and the others?"
This was where two nearby fishing villages met, so it was fairly lively. There was even a fountain in the middle, making it a popular photo spot.
After parking his bike, Shen Lian squeezed through gaps in the crowd. When he saw what was happening beside the fountain, he raised an eyebrow.
It was Huang Jiacan and Shao Zhen.
More precisely, Shao Zhen was playing the violin while Huang Jiacan danced.
A staff member happened to be standing beside him, so Shen Lian asked, "Where did Noble Consort Huang get that skirt? Wasn't she wearing sportswear?"
"She bought it by the roadside for thirty-five yuan," the staff member said. "They've already earned a hundred yuan in this little stretch of time."
Fifteen minutes earlier, Huang Jiacan and Shao Zhen had arrived on this street after a simple meal of two pieces of bread.
Shao Zhen was a man of few words, silently following behind Huang Jiacan most of the time.
