Arc 17The Holy Crusade Marches

Chris consolidated his rule through a royal wedding, religious reorganization, and festival celebrations while Bagnia prepared to confront the Snake-Men. The Holy Crusade Army reached the edge of the corrupted swamp, where its commanders weighed their options and three Minisians offered to guide the players to the enemy.

  • Chris opened the Anvil Railway Station as Mole secretly recorded Bagnia’s cargo and troop numbers, while Lawrence returned to Tavitsky and received a promotion and medal for his service at Suvano.
  • Chris negotiated railway technology sales with Bohemia and Retalia, refused Princess Phyllis’s request to buy locomotives, and denied the churches’ request to form a Holy Crusade Army against the Snake-Men.
  • Chris learned that Fisher had met with Byron and Lydia, appointed Diu Ni Leimu to lead the Mechanicus Cult’s crusade, and removed Byron as High Priest while making Crawford his successor.
  • During the Harvest Festival and royal wedding, Chris and Elena rode before cheering crowds as guards and workers thwarted attacks and sabotage, while Elena recognized Chris’s detachment and enjoyed her new influence.

Arc 18The Fall of Minisia

The Holy Crusade Army broke through the Snake-Men’s defenses while Minisians joined the fight and Bagnia cultivated allies amid a growing conspiracy against King Charles. Home Alone’s mission to wound Charles ended with the king shot dead, plunging the palace into chaos.

  • Ivyra offered Diu Ni Leimu a route through underground passages, but Polka refused to lead a swamp expedition, and he later saved Diu Ni Leimu from a Snake-Man assassin with his musket.
  • Diu Ni Leimu’s army repelled a Snake-Man assault, then drained the poisoned swamp and fought off repeated attacks with flamethrowers and other defenses.
  • The Snake-Men moved north toward Grayrock Pass and captured it and Naxi Fortress, while Ivyra recruited Minisians to fight alongside the Holy Crusade Army.
  • Black-and-White Bear discovered that the Snake-Men were weakening, and Athos led Railway Troops into the swamp as more Minisians joined the army.
  • Knife-in-the-Butt’s players and Colonel Vigo’s Self-Rescue Army retook Naxi Fortress, after which Vigo asked for his forces to join Bagnia.

Arc 19The Fall of Minisia

King Charles’s staged death and the nobles’ rebellion plunged Treasure Island into a purge before Young Charles surrendered Minisia to Bagnia. Chris then consolidated Bagnia’s control, defeated the Snake-Men, and reshaped the government while building influence within the palace.

  • Neharry fled Treasure Island as the nobles rebelled, while Dorok’s players attacked the nobles’ forces and helped turn the city into a battlefield.
  • Gray Shadow arranged player assassinations of several noble leaders, and the resulting suspicion and infighting shattered the nobles’ alliance.
  • Gray Shadow killed Young Charles under King Charles’s orders, then helped incite a Royal Guard mutiny that put Charles back in control.
  • Charles’s forces purged Treasure Island, but Charles died from poison and Gray Shadow killed himself as Young Charles returned to the palace.

Arc 20The Fall of Casarina

Chris sent Bagnian mercenaries to Casarina Island, where their arrival led to clashes with the Makon Alliance and a brutal fight against the Snake-Men. After Casarina fell, the survivors defended their camp and captured a Snake-Man divine son whose revelations complicated their understanding of the conflict.

  • Chris negotiated an expensive weapons and mercenary deal with Alvarez, then dispatched unruly new players to Casarina Island.
  • The new mercenaries clashed with Makon soldiers at the docks, and Governor Almeida’s forces struggled to control the escalating conflict.
  • A Sea Python’s magic turned Snake-Man corpses into venomous flesh snakes, but the players used Dragon’s Breath flamethrowers to drive back the assault.
