In the blink of an eye, another month had passed.
Outside the window, night lay heavy.
In the bedroom, She Xilu crouched on the floor with her arms around her legs, her delicate brows slightly furrowed as she looked worriedly at the Little Pomeranian lying limp before her.
The Heavenly Dog disguised as a Little Pomeranian was curled up on the floor, its tiny body like a little ball of white fluff. It looked utterly adorable, but it kept trembling, as though something had frightened it terribly.
She Xilu reached out to stroke its fur, trying to comfort it, and asked inwardly, "Is it all right?"
"It's fine. It just got scared."
Youchan said coolly in her mind, "Its 'Master' is probably calling it again. Anyone capable of pouring power into it and strengthening it this much is probably a Demonic Fiend of the Outer Path-and no ordinary one, either..."
"A Demonic Fiend of the Outer Path? Are you a match for that 'Master,' then?" She Xilu asked in puzzlement.
Over the past month, although the Heavenly Dog couldn't speak and couldn't tell her much, it had still been able to write with its paws.
So she had learned quite a bit about it.
"A Demonic Fiend of the Outer Path? Something that can only throw its weight around in the mortal world dares call itself our opponent?" Youchan snorted. "At my peak, I could kill it from ten thousand miles away with a single glance."
"Oh..."
She Xilu asked again, "What about now?"
"...I said at my peak. All I have left now is a primordial spirit." Youchan's voice grew noticeably quieter. She gave a light cough and said, "For now, I'll let it off for a while."
So you know how to listen to your inner coward, too...
