Little You and Xiao Chan

Youchan’s original identity arose from Little You, an Extreme Yin Spirit Python, and Xiao Chan, a human girl. When an old woman’s attempted possession failed, her final attack shattered Xiao Chan’s divine soul. Little You used a method from the Ten Thousand Snakes True Scripture to preserve a fragment by merging it with herself. The resulting snake demon called herself Youchan, combining their identities 175.

Believing that becoming a snake demon made her unfit to remain with Lin Zhishui, Youchan tried to drive him away. He refused to abandon her. She eventually accepted his companionship, assumed human form, and married him 175.

Life as a Demon Ancestor

As Demon Ancestor Youchan, she guarded the Demonic Well of Origin alone and killed trespassers. She was described as the strongest Demon Ancestor beneath Primordial Origin. The Golden Crow Girl knew her as the Demon Ancestor who exterminated the ancient ancestors of the Demon Race 45 123 146.

Unlike most Demon Ancestors, Youchan had comparatively loose mental shackles and desired freedom rather than willing service to “It.” Other Demon Ancestors treated her as a potential traitor, excluded her from their plans, and kept their distance. Primordial Origin was her principal exception: he befriended her and claimed to owe her a favor, without explaining its origin 146 148.

Escape and Reincarnation

Youchan and her human counterpart asked Primordial Origin to kill them so they could escape the Outer Path through reincarnation. Because he was also an Outer Demon, and they willingly stopped resisting, his specially forged weapon could destroy their otherwise indestructible source. Although the strike appeared to sever their Primordial Spirits’ connection, they remained linked after reincarnation 96.

They returned as two souls in one body: She Xilu retained the human nature, while Youchan retained the snake nature. Youchan’s memories awakened first; She Xilu’s failure to recover her own memories remained unexplained 70.

Asked whether she can do so now, she retreats to the admission that she has only a Primordial Spirit left 66.

Her abrasive confidence contrasts sharply with She Xilu’s timidity. She Xilu entrusts difficult conversations to her, but Youchan’s private insults and confrontational transmissions lead She Xilu to compare her to a “keyboard warrior.” Reading modern novels also teaches her internet slang and gives her material for mocking She Xilu’s expectations of cultivation 66 70.
