Background / History
Family and Earlier Life
Tang Hao is Ah Yin’s partner and the father of their son, Tang San. After Ah Yin’s sacrifice, he hides her surviving Blue Silver Grass body in a sunless waterfall cave. Ah Yin believes he chose the location to protect her from Spirit Hall; Lu Xuan disputes this explanation and criticizes her six years of isolation 17 18.
According to Tang San’s recollections, Tang Hao began drinking heavily when his son was young, leaving Tang San to care for him. After Tang San’s Martial Soul Awakening, he insists that the boy publicly reveal only Blue Silver Grass rather than his second martial soul 8.
Confrontation with Lu Xuan
Tang Hao secretly watches Lu Xuan accept Tang San as a disciple. His concealed killing intent attracts Lu Xuan’s attention, and Lu Xuan drives him away with spiritual pressure before arranging a meeting outside Nuoding City 3 5.
During their meeting, Tang Hao demands to know Lu Xuan’s identity and intentions. Believing a Blue Silver Grass cultivator cannot threaten him, he orders Lu Xuan to become Tang San’s Dao Protector and submit to the Clear Sky Sect. He then releases his martial soul and Divine Slaughter’s Domain 5 6.
Lu Xuan’s Yazi possession disperses the domain, while his level-99 pressure forces Tang Hao to kneel. Tang Hao apologizes and invokes his relationship with Tang San, but Lu Xuan severs his right arm, takes its Soul Bone as compensation, and dismisses him. Tang Hao leaves rather than attempt a suicidal counterattack 6 7.
Treatment and Ah Yin’s Death
Tang Hao subsequently obtains treatment at the Ye residence, holding Ye Lingling under soul-power restraints. Ye Rou’er stabilizes his arm wound but cannot repair his internal injuries or damaged meridians. He releases Ye Lingling, threatens both women into silence, takes money and valuables, and escapes 18 19.
While recovering, he experiences a profound sense of loss as Lu Xuan destroys Ah Yin’s remaining body. Unaware of her death, Tang Hao initially wonders whether Tang San is in danger. He dismisses that possibility because he believes his son is safe with Lu Xuan, then suddenly realizes his unease may concern Ah Yin 18 19.
Appearance
- Build: Burly and middle-aged 5.
- Clothing and grooming: Ragged clothes and a stubble-covered face 5.
- After his defeat: Missing his right arm at the shoulder; staggers away from the confrontation 6 7.
- During domain activation: His eyes turn blood-red and his breathing becomes heavy 6.
Personality
Tang Hao is suspicious of unfamiliar authority over his son and openly dismissive of Blue Silver Grass’s combat potential. Even after recognizing Lu Xuan’s higher cultivation and Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring, he initially believes his own martial soul can secure victory 5 6.
His pride gives way to self-preservation when Lu Xuan reveals overwhelming strength. He chooses submission because he still wants to witness Tang San’s growth, revive the Clear Sky Sect, and avenge himself on Spirit Hall 6.
His concern for Tang San contrasts with the neglect his son remembers from childhood. Toward outsiders, he is coercive: he restrains Ye Lingling and threatens her life to conceal his treatment and whereabouts 8 19.
