Sporadic gunfire broke out behind Evan as well. Those "followers of the gods" believed their deity was protesting and hurled themselves at the Imperialis Militia's lines. Even warning shots did nothing.

The warship Emperor's Fist gave them a blast from its main gun, and its secondary bolt cannons emptied an entire magazine, wiping out a ring of worshippers.

You only listen when my back muscles bulge into the word "virtue," is that it?

Things were not that bad yet. The warship's Bipolar Cyclonic Torpedoes could deal with any monsters they encountered.

If one was not enough, they would use two.

But this was such a fine human world. Destroying it outright would be both a shame and unnecessary.

Most of the Chapter's heavy weapons were gathered here now, originally intended for use against the Necrons.

A Krork charged out and died after receiving a whole host of lethal gifts. Their line advanced a little. Another Ork followed behind.

The enemies' towering bodies and thick muscles made them difficult to kill quickly. Even with support from the Emperor's Fist, anything short of a main-gun hit could not kill one outright.

Enemies continued pouring from the opening, which measured over five meters across. Even though only one could charge out at a time, their sheer power left the Chapter struggling to hold them off.

The airborne Anti-grav Attack Craft attacked as the enemy occupied an increasingly large area. Its missile pods emptied within minutes, by which time the second craft was already in position.

As expected, the unexpected happened.

Those missiles, designed to deal with lightly armored enemy infantry, delivered extremely powerful blast waves and explosive damage.

Bad news: the missile explosions could not kill a five-meter-tall Ork.

Good news: the blast waves worked very well. Oh, now that was bad news
