The Adeptus Mechanicus had not inflated their prices. This was no lawless backwater like the provisional Segmentum Pacificus. The Departmento Munitorum kept records of their output and the Imperial supplies they received. They could only demand exorbitant prices for things beyond ordinary supply requirements.
Repairing Power Armour for the Astartes was part of the Adeptus Mechanicus's duties, counted under "ordinary Imperial supplies."
Was the Chapter officially recognized? The Department of the Interior official who had just left had come to deliver their charter. Of course they had to offer "help in a time of need." Once they became an official Chapter, wouldn't that just be icing on the cake? Wouldn't it lose the impact it had now?
The Techmarine could not quite wrap his head around it either. What? I named an outrageous price expecting you to haggle, and you just agreed?
Damn, did I ask too much? Honestly, if I'd known, I would've been greedier.
The Techmarine personally inspected the suits of Power Armour. Their quality was excellent, comparable to the master-crafted Power Armour made by the Salamanders.
Some things still cost a fortune, though: large quantities of Mark X Power Armour and several suits of heavy armour.
There were also several newly manufactured Thunderhawks, the primary vehicles for deploying Astartes onto planets... though not exactly the primary ones in their dirt-poor Chapter.
The heavy armour was Terminator Armour fitted for Primaris warriors. Like the old models, it could be manufactured, just in small quantities and at a high price.
There were barely any of these strategic weapons in stock here. The Adeptus Mechanicus had no Skitarii who could wear them, so there was little point in stockpiling them.
The technology offered in exchange was Annos's own specialty. He had not spent all these years freeloading. Since they never
