Kalon, originally named Arnis Kalonfils, was a Dreadnought of the Lamenters.

He was a warrior the Lamenters had sent to work for the Deathwatch. After the Lamenters were swallowed by a Hive Fleet, he believed he no longer had a home, so he stayed with the Deathwatch.

The fatal catch was that the contract he had signed with the Deathwatch was permanent.

Through his long years of service, he stubbornly remained alive, even after Abaddon's Thirteenth Crusade ended and Guilliman sent Primaris Warriors to reinforce the Lamenters.

When he learned that his parent Chapter still existed, he tried speaking with an Inquisitor to terminate his contract. Naturally, no Inquisitor would agree to that request.

Yet fate played another joke on Kalon. The Lamenters had survived their perilous, century-long Penitent Crusade, only to become lost in the Warp.

And so the bitterly disappointed old Dreadnought spent another six hundred years inside his sarcophagus.

He did everything he could to preserve his sanity and keep the black rage from consuming him, because if he died, the Lamenters would truly be extinct.

He had yet to avenge his Chapter. He would kill every last Tyranid.

When Abaddon's Fourteenth Crusade ended and the Warp Rift receded, he received important news in the Segmentum Tempestus.

The Lamenters had returned! They had appeared in the Segmentum Obscurus!

It took twenty years for this news to be sorted out of the Imperium's enormous intelligence backlog and sent to Kalon's Deathwatch branch-and that was with Astartes receiving priority.

Kalon packed his bags on the spot, hanging all the enemy skulls he had collected during his years with the Deathwatch from his chassis.

As the Lamenters' only warrior in the Deathwatch, he wanted to contact his Chapter, if only to tell them he was still alive.
