Perturabo remained seated on his throne as the countless guns mounted on his body began to roar. The Plasma Guns and Heavy Bolters fitted to the Law Armour all fired at Guilliman.
Guilliman was the first to recover. He had been dazed for only a moment before realizing he was caught in the enemy's trap.
The Imperial assault force had come prepared as well. Guilliman roared and charged Perturabo again, determined to close in and tie him down.
Titus recovered second. He immediately roused his brothers and began pulling Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs and Teleport Beacons from his bulky backpack.
A squad of veteran Terminators was already waiting on the Imperial side. They were true battle-hardened elites, ancient warriors who had lived through the age before Primaris Warriors existed.
Incoming shells were already visible overhead. The Teleport Beacons guided the Librarians who had been separated from them earlier, left outside the door. Those Librarians, a Terminator Assault Squad, and a squad of Grey Knights that had been waiting for some time were teleported onto the field.
The Librarians raised Psychic Shields to briefly hold off the enemy bombardment, while the Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs were quickly set. Once they detonated, every gun nearby would cease to function.
Both Primarchs were in their strongest positions. Guilliman had numerous elite troops beside him, enough to overwhelm his opponent with numbers, while Perturabo had lured his former brother into a trap of his own making.
Perturabo's unusual behavior caught Guilliman's attention. He had not even risen from his throne.
"Sanguinius was right. You are not the embodiment of reason and composure. You merely use those tedious rules to suppress the fury buried deep within you."
"You have no right to speak his name."
Hearing the name of his departed dearest friend kindled a blaze of
