Evan watched the electricity dancing across his body and, for the first time, doubted the bones of the Sisters of Silence.

"We lost our way and came here. The Emperor guided us. Grand Master, tell us what's happening."

Kaldor distrusted these strange reinforcements he had never seen before. Had they at least worn Power Armour, he could have entrusted Eternal Sorrow to them. But this...

"Who are you?"

"I am the lord of the Crimson Tide, the Imperium's mightiest force on the edge of the galaxy, guarding the dark reaches so that their fiends and horrors cannot enter humanity's lands..."

Evan delivered a long, ceremonial spiel that revealed practically nothing useful.

A thick current bounced across Evan's armour a few times before swiftly dissipating.

"This armour contains the bones of the Sisters of Silence. Think of it as a suit of master-crafted anti-psyker adamantium Centurion armour." Through the surrounding cacophony of daemonic roars, the Grand Master of the Grey Knights heard Evan's breathless but proud laughter.

Evan drew a Bolter from a comrade's back and fired continuously.

Kaldor watched the scene with mild curiosity. Their heavy armour restricted their movements, leaving their arms with very little range. Almost all the weapons on their backs, feet, and chests were controlled by mechanical drives.

Their arms could not reach their backs.

When operating in a tight formation, the warriors hung weapons on their backs so those behind them could take them whenever needed. This tactic was only used for high-density troop deployments.

Kaldor wanted Evan to remove his helmet and prove his identity, but he knew that operating in the Warp was dangerous enough, let alone exposing bare flesh.

"Who is your Gene-Father?"

"Jaghatai Khan, the Eagle of the Imperium."

"Where have you come from?"

"Skalov, on the edge of Segmentum Pacificus."
