Trazyn had enough "wealth" to trade with them, and he was quite trustworthy when it came to transactions. But afterward... they believed Trazyn lacked the ability to keep them there. At least they could still escape.
It was not the thief who stole from you that you feared, but the thief who had his eye on you.
The Light of the People was practically a museum. Trazyn would not attack it head-on; that was not his style. But he might well follow them secretly and wait until some major battle forced them to deploy the False Archangel, the Bloodspawn Axe, or something similar. Once the fighting ended, Trazyn would pop out with a Time Prison, snatch his prize, and run. There would be nothing they could do about it.
It was easy to imagine a Necron Big Boss skulking behind the Light of the People for the next several thousand years.
Zahadrek was a more reliable option. The drawback was that he might not be rich enough, so Evan might not get what he wanted.
