The Terminator put on a wriggling performance for his Black Templars brothers.
As far as his senses told him, a Titan-class Tyranid beast had swallowed him, and he was writhing around inside its digestive tract.
This comical turn of events did not faze any of the holy warriors. The Black Templars carried out their orders resolutely, spreading out to capture the Terminator.
The Black Templars' Interrogator Chaplain was more experienced than his counterparts in other Chapters. They were not psykers, which made their "physical" means of obtaining intelligence particularly important. With their own neophyte being fairly cooperative, his talents were allowing him to piece together an increasingly complete picture.
But time waited for no one.
Before they could act, the Quantum Ghosts also realized how the battle stood and began gathering their forces to wipe out the "invaders."
They were extradimensional creatures. Energy weapons inflicted considerable damage on them-plasma such as fire and lightning, for instance-but they were almost immune to kinetic weapons.
The Interrogator Chaplain surveyed his surroundings solemnly. He needed to uncover more information about the enemy. They would not possess his battle-brothers, or the humans who had been here before them, for no reason. They wanted something. But what?
Was this their lair, or were these creatures outsiders too?
They were burning through vast quantities of promethium. Astra Militarum soldiers and battle-brothers were also being clumsily manipulated into approaching them, but these posed little threat, more like bait in a trap.
When these strangely behaving physical creatures caught your attention, the Quantum Ghosts, invisible to ordinary sight, would seize the opportunity to close in and grab you.
The Black Templars were trying to work out exactly what these things were.
Victor had already reached a firm conclusion.
"They aren't psychic creatures."
"Agreed. They're more like extradimensional creatures,
