The Light of the People shuddered. That was rare enough that even the Night Lord felt it. He shut his mouth and never spoke again afterward.

Situval then handed the interrogation over to a Commissar and went to find Evan with the information.

"Mostly accurate," Evan said.

The Chapter Master did not explain where his knowledge came from, and Situval did not ask.

The two old friends talked about everything from the Dark Angels' gene-seed problem to the war in the Ghoul Stars. Outside, a surge in the Warp jolted the warships, scattering a few vessels on the fleet's perimeter. Fortunately, the Wind and Cloud-class Battleships had never entered the Warp in the first place.

"We've lost contact with another two Lunar-class Cruisers. The Astronomican's light is too faint here..."

"Look on the bright side. The Light of the People might be able to produce enough ammunition to supply these ships now."
