Blood still dripped from Lucius's Blade of Laer. The daemon blade was deeply dissatisfied with the great wolf's blood and refused to absorb it. The swirling Pain Runes covering its length writhed, delivering Slaanesh's malice to anyone who looked at them.

Kuroser could barely contain his fury. The Emperor's Children traitor before him was extraordinarily tall. The blessings of Chaos had brought him close to perfection in Aeldari eyes, but to an Astartes, he was nothing more than a disgusting lump of sludge.

"Lucius, is it? Good. My nose will remember you."

Kuroser attacked before he had even finished speaking. His movements seemed painfully slow to the Slaaneshi Cultist, but the simultaneous discharge of several primary weapon mounts shook heaven and earth.

Flames engulfed the entire field of vision again. This time, however, countless bolts and streams of plasma tore through the curtain of fire, slamming toward Lucius's profane armour.

Dozens of faces writhed across the Emperor's Children warrior's Power Armor. Lucius's evasions were almost supernatural, not a single movement wasted. He used perilously narrow dodges to let bolts skim past his armour, or merely shifted his position to make them ricochet.

The anti-psyker bolts still posed some threat to him, however.

Lucius moved. The Whip of Torment tore through the wall of fire, its powerful corrupting power shredding the promethium flames. The remaining sparks were extinguished by the astral gale raised as the Blade of Laer slashed down at incredible speed. His blade thrust forward, straight for the wolf's head.

Kuroser howled and met him head-on. His Power Fist and Power Claymore struck in turn. He had secured the Sisters of Silence's shield to the outside
