A Piranha transport pierced the atmosphere and descended to the planet's surface.

Unlike most worlds in the universe, the worlds of the T'au were orderly and well planned.

Huge, pristine white semicircular buildings interlocked with one another. Broad avenues surrounded by lush vegetation stretched into the distance, while countless hovering transports formed lanes of traffic in the sky.

On the ground, people bustled about. Whether T'au or members of other species, they all seemed busy with their work.

By the time the Piranha landed smoothly, two noncommissioned officers in combat uniforms had already been waiting there for some time.

"Commander Farsight, I've always advised against you traveling in a Piranha. This kind of transport isn't particularly safe."

"I know, Vaan, but riding in a Piranha is a way of reminding myself, of remembering my fallen warriors."

Vaan sighed softly.

"The Ethereals are already waiting for you."

They boarded a Devilfish, then swiftly joined an aerial traffic lane.

Commander Farsight watched the vehicles racing past outside. Perhaps it was because he had slept for too long, but T'au seemed busier now than it had before.

Because of the T'au's short lifespans, the T'au Empire placed certain high-value individuals in hibernation, waking them again when a crisis arose.

"What war woke me this time?"

"Humanity has sounded the call to war against us again. You and Commander Shadowsun will be responsible for repelling their attacks."

"Hah. Humanity."

Farsight felt nothing but contempt and hatred for the Imperium of Man.

Or rather, most T'au felt a similar disgust toward the Imperium of Man.

Despite being an ancient empire, it wantonly brutalized its own people, wallowing in backwardness and ignorance and refusing to advance.

As a commander, Farsight felt this most keenly in its armies.
