Gohard III was a thoroughly barren world, with a thin atmosphere and a thick layer of rock beneath its scant soil. Yet it had few mineral deposits, making it a godforsaken place even a dog would turn its nose up at.
Recently, however, Gohard III had changed.
Lifeless rock was no longer all it had. Green mushrooms had begun sprouting across its surface, along with gigantic heaps of rubbish.
If anyone from the Inquisition had seen this, their face would have twitched as they issued an Exterminatus order without hesitation, wiping out every last bacterium on the planet.
In short.
Gohard III had an Ork infestation.
Gagags had butchered several Ork pirates who refused to acknowledge him as their boss, chopped them into tiny pieces, and dumped them on Gohard III.
Strictly speaking, Orks were not "animals," but mobile fungi. Every individual constantly released spores.
If an Ork was chopped to pieces without being thoroughly disposed of with a promethium flamethrower, masses of spores would develop after a while, then differentiate into Orks, Gretchin, and Squigs-the basic units of Ork society.
Through prolonged infighting, these Orks would produce a champion of civil strife known as a "Warboss," who would lead them in cobbling together heaps of rubbish capable of flying into space to seek out one battle after another.
And the Orks on Gohard III had been planted with Bona's authorization.
To ensure that the tiny rebel Imperium he led would not be casually wiped out, Bona had chosen without hesitation to exploit these brutal, warlike Xenos.
He had even ordered the vast quantities of rubbish left after the demolition of the Hive City to be dumped directly onto Gohard III, helping the Orks develop as quickly as possible.
