Horus stared at the arrows on the tactical sand table in confusion.
The Imperial Army, which had been fighting in perfect order moments ago, had suddenly gone berserk, massing most of its elite forces for a suicidal assault.
Knight walkers, Sisters of Battle, Kasrkin assault troops, and Space Marines-their finest forces tore through the last defensive line in one stroke and charged into the Waning Moon Fortress.
Horus could not understand what the Imperial Army hoped to achieve.
If they planned to strike from within and blow everything apart from both sides, they were being hopelessly naive.
Horus had yet to commit his reserves. He only needed to deploy his armoured units and the Luna Wolves to seal the breach behind them, and this entire force would be annihilated.
The loss of those troops might even let the Dawn Army push back on the other fronts.
It made no sense. Horus simply could not understand them...
