Magnus looked at the black water before him.

Above him stretched a silent expanse of black; beneath his feet lay a lifeless pool of black water.

Arms formed from the black water reached out, trying to seize Magnus.

"Keep away from me, you filthy things!"

Magnus brandished his Magic Wand, hurling a barrage of psychic bolts at them.

But the psyker power that had once blasted mountains apart now seemed like water poured into a pond, raising only a few splashes.

Even his immense strength as a Primarch did nothing.

Only when those hands began winding around him did Magnus realize what they were made of.

"No! You can't do this!"

More and more hands clambered over Magnus, dragging him alive into the black water.

"No! No!"

Magnus strained to keep his head above the surface, but the black water finally swallowed him.

Suffocation gripped him. When Magnus's lungs burst open and he gulped down fresh air, he saw a blinding light.

Wait, why do I still need to breathe?

His recovering ears began adjusting to his surroundings, and a cacophony of alarms flooded his mind.

His eyes picked out banks of red lights, along with the stunned Luna Wolves Terminators.

Several Terminators aimed their weapons at Magnus, who was restrained on a bed, and shouted:

"Quick, fetch Father!"

When Horus arrived, he found Magnus restrained on the bed, surrounded by piles of Blanks' staves.

Magnus was now utterly unlike the raving madman he had been before. The horrifying daemonic marks on his body were gone, and he looked more like his old self from before the Great Crusade.

Well, of course, the resemblance would have been closer if he still had that eye.

"So, do you need a couple of slaps to bring you to your senses?" Horus asked
