After Wang Ziling destroys Wang Yan’s dantian and throws him into a lake, the Immortal Card and Card Fairy give him a new way to cultivate and fight. Wang Yan grows stronger through hunting and looting, then returns toward the Wang Household, where Ma Family cultivators discover him at a pool.

• Wang Ziling ambushed Wang Yan, destroyed his dantian, and threw him from a cliff, but the Immortal Card saved him and stopped his bleeding.
• Card Fairy explained that Wang Yan could cultivate through the Immortal Card and taught him a fire method, which let him store spiritual energy and make reusable Fireball Spell Cards.
• Wang Yan trained in the mountains, broke through to minor attainment, drew a Water-Fire Blast Card, and hunted demonic beasts for materials.
• Wang Yan killed a wounded Ma Family woman and her burly companion, then used the Water-Fire Blast Technique to kill the pursuing Fang Bear Beast.
• Wang Yan looted the Ma Family cultivators’ belongings and learned that the Thousand Spirit Arrow was a Spirit Artifact and a jade slip contained part of the Heart-Control Art.
• Wang Yan recovered from his injuries, decided to return to the Wang Household and confront Wang Ziling, then hid beneath a pool as the Third Elder and Ma Family cultivators arrived.
• After the Third Elder left, Wang Yan tried to escape through the pool, but the long-robed Ma Family youth spotted him and raised his magic artifact.

Wang Yan framed Wang Ziling, survived the Ma and Lü families’ pursuits, and met Ye Shisan while seeking black mother iron. He stayed at the Ye Family Stockade, advanced his cultivation, and remained under suspicion as he pursued his own plans.

• Wang Yan planted an identity token bearing Wang Ziling’s name, then learned Wang Ziling had become the clan head’s disciple and used the Ma Family’s hunt for him to gather information.
• Wang Yan ambushed Ma Family cultivators and helped make the Ma Family believe Wang Ziling had taken the Moon-Embracing Purple Mountain Map, while Wang Ziling denied leaving Azure Spirit Mountain.
• At the Lü Family Marketplace, Wang Yan sold his spoils, bought talismans and a Purple-Spotted Bamboo Brush, and killed a Lü Household cultivator who pursued him.
• Wang Yan helped Ye Shisan escape three Lü Household cultivators, then agreed to accompany him toward the Ye Family Stockade after learning about his heavy Black Iron Rod.
• At the stockade, Wang Yan fought Shi Nu when he tried to leave, but Ye Mingtian welcomed him and assigned guards while Wang Yan concealed his interest in the black mother iron.
• Wang Yan learned formation runes, advanced to major completion of the Cultivation Realm, drew a Creation Pill, and gave Ye Shisan’s father the Earthforce Art.
• Ye Mingtian tested Wang Yan with a supposed weapon shipment mission, and Wang Yan later gave Ye Shisan the jade slip before spending four months failing to refine the Spell Collection Card.

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan survived the Guileful Poison Sect’s destruction of the Ye Family Stockade and escaped Red Second Madam, learning that Shi Nu had been a planted spy. They set out for the Firecloud Sect, but at Firecloud Market Huā Tiánlíng tried to claim them as recruits, and Wang Yan discarded their competing talismans.

• Wang Yan escorted the Black Iron Divine Weapons with Ye Shisan and the Ye clansmen, but masked cultivators ambushed the stockade, killed its defenders, and mortally wounded Ye Mingtian.
• Wang Yan fought off the masked cultivators and killed their leader, then found Ye Shisan suffering cultivation deviation after Shi Nu betrayed him and poisoned Wang Yan’s shoulder.
• Wang Yan treated Ye Shisan and helped him recover, but Grandpa Blacksmith told them the stockade had fallen and Ye Shisan’s father was dead.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan entered the stockade through an old mine, fought Red Second Madam, and escaped underground after Blacksmith Ye sacrificed himself to protect Ye Shisan.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan fled through an underground river, resolved to seek revenge later, and agreed to travel to the Firecloud Sect after reaching full completion of the Cultivation Realm.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan captured a Guileful Poison Sect cultivator, who revealed the sect’s plans and Shi Nu’s role, then continued toward Firecloud Market after Ye Shisan killed him.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan reached Firecloud Market and encountered Huā Tiánlíng, who gave them red talismans and ordered them to report under her name instead of Situ Lou Lou’s.
• Wang Yan took all four talismans, pressed them into a stone, and threw it over a cliff.

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan joined the Firecloud Sect and entered the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land with Zhang Qiulin and Zhang Qiulang. After surviving Young Master Lei’s attack, a beast tide, and several ambushes, Wang Yan began searching the cliff for Ye Shisan.

• Wang Yan sold black mother iron ore and spent the proceeds on treasures and supplies before registering with the Firecloud Sect alongside Ye Shisan.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan boarded the Firecloud Boat, met Zhang Qiulin and Zhang Qiulang, and learned that provisional disciples had to survive the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land trial.
• Wang Yan and Ye Shisan joined forces with the Zhang sisters, but Young Master Lei and the Hengshan Four Fiends attacked them after the group teleported into the treasure land.
• Wang Yan killed Young Master Lei, and Ye Shisan and the Zhang sisters defeated the Hengshan Four Fiends before a beast tide forced them to flee.
• Wang Yan and his companions escaped the Double-Horned Rhino Beasts, survived a Purple Flame Sect ambush, and gathered supplies while rival sects fought elsewhere in the treasure land.
• Wang Yan and the others climbed a cliff to collect spirit medicines, where Lin Kun and White Spirit Sect cultivators ambushed them from above.
• Wang Yan and the Zhang sisters defeated the ambushers, and Wang Yan sent Lin Kun falling to his death before descending to search for Ye Shisan.
