"When Gua gets back, we have to give him a proper celebration."
"I know, I know. You've said that twelve times already."
"But you're a dummy, Dashan. You always forget."
"I won't, I won't. How could I forget? He's my son."
"Then could you act a little more excited?"
"Excited? Like this?"
At Konoha's gate, Uchiha Oyama and Uchiha Nai chattered away. Uchiha Oyama struck an exaggerated crab pose to show Uchiha Nai how excited he was.
Uchiha Nai stared at his crablike pose, briefly stunned, then covered her mouth and giggled.
"Dashan, are you trying to make our son die laughing?"
Uchiha Oyama dropped the awkward pose and pursed his lips.
"Didn't you tell me to act more excited?"
"Who acts excited like that? Watch me, watch me."
Uchiha Nai waved her hand, telling Uchiha Oyama to look at her.
Uchiha Oyama obediently turned to watch Uchiha Nai.
Uchiha Nai held a colorful bouquet, her smile blooming like a sunflower. Then she leaped straight up, brought the flowers in front of her face, and threw herself forward.
Uchiha Nai landed right in Uchiha Oyama's arms, leaving him momentarily stunned.
Then Uchiha Nai rubbed her beaming face against his.
"Welcome home, Gua!!"
Uchiha Oyama stood there in a daze, a blush creeping over his aging face.
It reminded him of those early days when he and Nai had first gotten together.
Uchiha Nai pulled away from Uchiha Oyama, leaving a step between them. She planted her hands on her hips and looked at him.
"Got it? That's how you show excitement!"
"Uh-"
Uchiha Oyama opened his mouth. He simply couldn't agree with Nai.
What grown man showed excitement like that?
Had she ever seen a grown man show excitement that way?
How was he supposed to show his face afterward?
