The skeleton walked beneath the blazing sun with a cane, carrying a pack half a person tall on its back. A cluster of ghostly blue flames flickered in its eye sockets.
It seemed to notice the convoy too. Its jaws moved, and then it started running toward them.
Chu Sheng stood atop the Netherbone Car with his eyes half narrowed, shifting his target from the leaf on the ground to the anomaly running toward them.
"A skeleton... It should run purely on mental energy, right?" Chu Sheng muttered. A Red Celebration Arrow, vivid as blood, slowly formed on his drawn bowstring.

As Chu Sheng released his fingers, the Red Celebration Arrow streaked toward the skeleton like a meteor.
In the space of a breath, the Red Celebration Arrow crossed over a thousand meters and skimmed past the skeleton's head.
Almost instantly, the skeleton threw itself flat on the ground, its jaws opening and closing nonstop.

Feeling the arrow pass through his chest, the skeleton ran toward the convoy even faster.
