Early that morning, after eating the meal Tazuna's daughter had lovingly prepared, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura followed Kakashi into a forest.
All sorts of exotic flowers and herbs grew there. With just a glance, Naruto spotted several medicinal plants.
"Kakashi-sensei, you can barely walk right now. Are you really going to help us train?" Sakura asked curiously, watching Kakashi lean on his crutch.
"Hmph. This had better be something useful."
Although Kakashi had earned Sasuke's respect in their last battle, he still had his doubts about what useful combat skills Kakashi could teach him.
"How shallow. You two just don't get it, do you?"
Naruto immediately began lecturing them. "Kakashi-sensei may only be a man, but he's incredibly powerful."
Sure enough, Kakashi smiled and patted Naruto's head. "Now that's what I like to hear, Naruto. Sasuke, Sakura, today I'm going to teach the three of you a chakra control technique. Once you've mastered it, it'll be a great help in your future battles."
By then, the four of them had reached a clearing in the middle of the forest.
Towering trees dozens of meters tall surrounded them.
After hearing that, all three waited patiently.
Seeing that he finally had his students' attention, Kakashi wasted no time. He slowly brought his hands together, and a faint breeze soon swept past his feet.
Then, before their eyes, Kakashi limped up a tree with his crutch, walking sideways up its trunk as lightly as though gravity no longer applied to him.
The sight left Sasuke and Sakura stunned. Naruto had actually mastered this technique long ago, but he pretended to be just as surprised.
"Wow, that's amazing, Kakashi-sensei!" Sakura's interest was immediately piqued.
Sasuke said nothing, but he watched Kakashi's every movement closely.
"Hmph. You haven't seen anything yet."
