Haku's lunch was very light: blanched vegetables with dipping sauce.
Of course, Naruto knew this was how most ordinary people in this world ate. Although he was a Master Chef, he had long since returned to the basics. He would not turn down food for being bland and enjoyed it just the same.
Seeing Naruto Older Brother eat with such relish eased Haku's worries. She had been afraid her cooking would not suit his tastes.
After lunch, Naruto spent another two hours giving Haku meticulous instruction before leaving.
Before he left, he handed Haku the Cell Potion he had redeemed and two cards, telling her to use them that evening under his clone's guidance.
"Take care, Naruto Older Brother."
Seeing Haku standing reluctantly in the doorway, Naruto reached out and ruffled her hair with a smile. "Keep at it. Be ready to take office as the Land of Waves' Daimyo any day now. When the time comes, you'll need to carry yourself like a new Daimyo should."
"Mm-hmm. My clone Older Brother told me lots of details about taking office. I'll do my best."
Naruto smiled and nodded, then vanished with a swish.
A kunai lay beneath the bed in Naruto's room at Tazuna's house.
A light breeze swept past, and Naruto instantly returned home from Haku's place.
He walked to the window and looked down. Sure enough, Sasuke had nearly mastered walking on water.
Since work on the Great Bridge would begin tomorrow, Tazuna, Kakashi, and Sakura were all out.
Time passed quickly, and soon it was the next morning.
"Come on, everyone! We need to finish the Great Bridge as quickly as possible while the ninja are here to protect us!"
Holding building materials in his arms, Tazuna shouted to his fellow workers on the Great Bridge.
"Yeah!"
