After helping Haku recover some of her exhausted spirits and having two Wood Release Clones temporarily take over her many duties, Naruto finally strolled into the Treehouse's kitchen.
But when he opened the refrigerator, he was stunned.
Leftover rice from the night before, some simply prepared salted dried fish, frozen seafood in the freezer...
"This girl is the Daimyo of the Land of Waves, and this is what she eats every day?"
Naruto smiled wryly. From the Spore Clone's many memories, he knew this wasn't the work of the Land of Waves' lords deliberately mistreating Haku.
Haku had requested all of this herself.
The Land of Waves had everything to rebuild. Apart from a few lords who supported her, none of Haku's subordinates had either the authority or the strength to be entrusted with major responsibilities.
To drastically reduce staffing costs, Haku had arranged for the Momoyama Daimyo's Residence to have a mere ten bodyguards and maids combined.
As Haku put it, she was a ninja with plenty of energy. She needed neither protection nor so many people waiting on her.
Naruto took out the usable ingredients from the refrigerator and carefully prepared lunch for Haku.
"Developing education, partnerships, construction, fishing, people's livelihoods, and everything else at once... Silly girl, you can't even use Shadow Clones. How can you manage all of that alone?"
After murmuring this, Naruto decided he absolutely had to teach Haku Konoha's exclusive Shadow Clone Technique.
An hour later, Naruto brought out two carefully prepared bowls of seafood and lean pork porridge, along with two small side dishes.
After so much strenuous work, Haku hadn't rested during the day in a long time.
By the time Naruto brought the food into the living room, she was already awake.
"What's wrong? If you're awake, come eat."
