"Thanks, old man. Here, take a look." Tetsuhiro returned the borrowed [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] to Sugoroku Muto and handed over [Obelisk the Tormentor] along with it.
"This... this is a God Card?!" With trembling hands, the old man carefully accepted it and gently ran his fingers over it.
He stroked it as though it were a baby, with the same excitement and tenderness he had felt when he first held his grandson.
Exclamations rose all around as everyone crowded closer.
"Wow~ A God Card. I've never even heard of one."
Joey Wheeler said, "Awesome! It actually has 4,000 attack points!"
"Idiot, look at the effect box!" Anzu pointed at the densely packed text on the card. "You need three tributes to summon it... that's an outrageous rule!"
"Three tributes to summon it? What's that mean?"
Tristan Taylor said, "You never believe me when I call you stupid. It means you need to get three pigs or three chickens ready."
Anzu drove an elbow into his side. "Those are offerings!"
Yugi said, "I think it means you have to sacrifice three monsters on the field before you can summon it. That's a god for you. Other monsters can all be summoned directly." His eyes were filled with awe and longing for the God Card.
"Here's a little sneak peek." Tetsuhiro leaned against the counter and tapped its surface with his fingertips. "The rules will be refined later. All monsters with five stars or more will need tributes, and there'll be more and more effect cards, too~"
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Miho standing in a corner, twisting the hem of her clothes with her head lowered. Sunlight fell across her face, but there wasn't even a hint of a smile.
