Anzu and Joey Wheeler were the first to arrive.
But all they saw was Weevil Underwood being carried away on a stretcher by the staff. Some shameless jerk had even stolen all the cards in his Duel Disk.
"Serves you right!" Anzu spat at Weevil Underwood in disgust.
Joey Wheeler raised his fist and punched the air, staring sternly at Weevil Underwood. "Don't let me catch you again, or I'll summon my fists in attack position!"
They had come after hearing the bystanders' chatter and met along the way.
Then Tristan Taylor and Bakura came over from the intersection on the right.
Tristan Taylor waved in greeting. "Yo! You guys are here too."
"You've all heard, right? Those rumors about [Cold-hearted Muto]. Do you think they're true?" Bakura rested a hand against his chin, looking doubtful.
"There's an old saying about rumors having a source, or there being no smoke without fire. Same difference, anyway."
"Anzu, you mean we should look at it dialectically?" Bakura said, understanding dawning on him.
"Exactly! That's what I meant. Yugi probably hasn't gone far. Let's catch up and ask him."
"Then let's go after him." They walked ahead, chatting as they went.
"Oh, right." Anzu asked Joey Wheeler and the others how their duels had gone.
Tristan Taylor and Bakura admitted regretfully that they had lost.
"Ha, ha!" Joey Wheeler looked smug, his eyebrows raised high. "You guys aren't up to scratch. I've already collected all the fragments."
