Setting aside what happened in the office for now... what Eiffel had said about the Star of Dawn's research results reminded Jonas of something else.
It was the suppressant for psychological defects that he had entrusted Rui with developing.
Although he knew this research project might take a long time... unlike before, Rui had not only made no progress over the past month or so, but had not even submitted a single report.
Previously, this could have been explained by the Alt Conglomerate's slowing growth leaving the project short of resources. But under the current circumstances, aside from the research hitting a bottleneck, there was clearly also an issue with Rui herself as the lead researcher.
After realizing this, Jonas did not contact her to ask about it... instead, he decided to go and see how Rui was doing at work himself.
After all, looking after his subordinates was also something a competent superior needed to keep in mind.
Meanwhile, at the Alt Corporation's Biology Research Center.
Rui stared at the research equipment in front of her, unable to muster any enthusiasm for some reason.
It was perfectly normal for a research project to hit a bottleneck. Besides, only about a month and a half had passed since the last breakthrough... that sounded like a long time, but it was negligible when viewed against the entire research cycle.
An ordinary research project often took several years to produce results after its inception.
Even though Jonas had already provided a broad framework for this project and the direction its research should take, repeated experiments and trial and error would still require at least several months. In other words, going a month and a half without progress was entirely reasonable.
And the research was not actually progressing slowly. It could even
