When the morning sunlight filtered through the curtains into the bedroom, Jonas knew his rare night of rest had come to an end.

He stroked the blonde girl's head beside him. As though sensing something, she gave a soft murmur, but did not fully wake.

"Good morning. Although I probably shouldn't be the one saying this, Miss Eiffel ought to know it's time for work."

Morning light slipped through a gap in the curtains and fell on Eiffel's soft cheek. Her lashes fluttered in the faint glow, looking especially long and delicate. Her breathing was slow and even, peaceful and serene. As though she had heard Jonas's voice, Amy's eyelids began to tremble gently, and her clear blue eyes gradually opened. Even in sleep, she seemed not to have forgotten her usual composure and intelligence; her expression was calm and unhurried even as she woke.

Eiffel gently rubbed her eyes, raised her head to look at Jonas beside her, then glanced at the clock hanging in the bedroom. Seeing that it was still early, she smiled faintly. She ran her fingers through her blonde hair, mussed by the pillow, then stretched, easing out her limbs. Slowly sitting up, she lifted the warm covers to reveal her pure white pajamas. She set her feet gently on the floor. Even in her just-awakened haze, Eiffel retained her usual calm, thoughtful air.

She looped both arms around Jonas's neck, a contented smile still on her face, and spoke with a rare hint of languor.

"Good morning, Mr. Jonas."

"Good morning."

Jonas smiled as well, then asked,

"How did you sleep last night?"

At that, Eiffel gave him a slightly exasperated look before replying,
