This was a force no flesh-and-blood body could withstand. The bullets would mercilessly tear through her skin, flesh, and bones, then take her life.
Simple cybernetic augmentation could not change that. Even if Miss Esnie had replaced over seventy percent of her body with cybernetics and equipped herself with the finest components available, she would still end up riddled with bullets.
Perhaps Jonas did not know about her arrangements in the Artemis District, or perhaps he trusted his subordinate's strength too much. That was why he had said those things to try to keep her there.
And by staying, she had tacitly accepted these rules... until the outcome truly emerged, neither side's trump cards had been revealed.
The safest approach was actually to follow her original plan. If she pulled back now, she could still pin the blame on the Alt Conglomerate.
Truthfully, this situation already had an element of gambling and risk to it.
Comparing the strength of their hands before their hidden cards had been revealed was not something Noel would normally do.
