Coming out of her daze, Zero pinched her cheek.
It wasn't a false dream.
Even after checking again and again, she still felt a sense of unreality.
A dazed look flickered through her ice-blue eyes, and her already emotionless face grew even more tense.
Her body really had recovered completely. It was just as it had been at her peak: her Psionic Energy circulated without the slightest obstruction, and her body no longer hurt. That gave her a little more confidence in the plan ahead.
But at the mere thought of the word "dream," Zero's earlobes flushed faintly.
For some reason, the fact that the god of the Void Realm existed, had made her one of his followers, and had restored her body to perfect health felt utterly unreal. Those startling facts had somehow made less of an impression on her than those dreams in which Jonas had put Cat Ears on her.
Was getting healed without having to give anything, with faith alone, simply too unreal? Was that why it couldn't compare to the scenes in that other dream?
But why did I have to dream about those things?
Once could be explained away, but twice or more...
Zero took a deep breath and decided to stop thinking about things that would distract her.
In any case... Jonas doesn't have long to live.
Now that she was back at her peak, she was certain she would never walk into a trap like last time. She would complete the mission Dorothy had given her.
Dorothy had once said that there was no such thing as free Credit Points, and that fate's gifts had their prices marked in secret long ago...
Well, she didn't understand what that meant, but she knew there was no kindness without a reason in this world.
