Background / History

Song Lin grew up with Ji Chi, and their families have been friends for many years. Before learning of Song Lin’s romantic intentions, Ji Chi trusted him enough to seek his help with the private and distressing discovery that he had been marked 6 48.

Ji Chi also knew a ruthless side to him: he had witnessed Song Lin frame someone and have them imprisoned over a piece of land. Because they had never had conflicting interests, Song Lin had nevertheless always treated Ji Chi well 8.

Song Lin has sharply defined features and an imposing air, with something aggressive about his face 6.

Personality

Hospital Visit and Exposed Feelings

Ji Chi asks Song Lin to accompany him to the hospital to have Huo Jin’s mark removed. Song Lin contacts a doctor while driving and demands removal as soon as they arrive. While Ji Chi is outside the consultation room, the doctor exposes Song Lin’s ambition to become an Enigma and mark him; Ji Chi overhears the exchange 6.

After recognizing Huo Jin by the pheromone scent left on Ji Chi, Song Lin attempts to punch him. Huo Jin pins him against a wall and suppresses him with pheromones. Song Lin continues threatening him, then checks on Ji Chi after recovering 8.

Ji Chi Establishes Boundaries

Ji Chi takes Song Lin to an Omega bar and leaves with Yan Le, intending to make Song Lin believe they slept together. The arrangement is designed to discourage Song Lin’s pursuit; Song Lin responds with a clenched hand and silence 8.

Later, Ji Chi tells Song Lin that he is going to see his boyfriend, Huo Jin. Song Lin grabs his shoulders in disbelief, but Ji Chi knocks his hands away and declares that anyone who wants to mark him will earn his hatred. Song Lin realizes that Ji Chi knows about his feelings 40.

Protecting Lin Jun

When Ji Shengming erupts into a pheromone-fueled rage, Song Lin calls Ji Chi home and stands protectively in front of the injured Lin Jun. He carries Lin Jun downstairs while Ji Chi prevents Ji Shengming from following, then drives them to the hospital 48.

During the journey, Song Lin asks whether he and Ji Chi are still friends. Ji Chi confirms that they are, but stresses the word “friend.” Song Lin subsequently registers Lin Jun for emergency care and contacts Gu Baizhou 49.
