At night, Mo Lu sat by the window.
The gentle evening breeze could not stir the dusk clouds, and the end of the wild path vanished into the dark mountain woods.
Mo Lu lit a stick of sandalwood incense and watched its blue smoke curl into the vast twilight.
The pheromones Weisheng Tou had left in the room had almost completely dissipated, replaced by sandalwood.
Mo Lu had never been accustomed to any scent in his room besides sandalwood. Yet now, lighting that once-familiar incense again, he found it less soothing than the scent of rose liquor.
Yet he clearly preferred tea, not liquor.
He clearly preferred subtle scents, not intense ones.
But Weisheng Tou had barged straight in, bringing pheromones that were a one hundred percent match for him.
Like an abandoned big dog, he bit people with snarling yelps, oblivious to his own strength, then looked at Mo Lu pitifully, wagging his tail and calling him "Master."
It gave Mo Lu a strange, inexplicable sense of responsibility.
And Weisheng Tou was two years younger than him.
Mo Lu gazed at the intricate Curse Seal diagram on his desk, momentarily lost in thought.
"Young master."
Weisheng Tou's deep voice sounded outside the door.
Mo Lu parted his lips, hesitating for a long while before saying, "Come in."
Weisheng Tou pushed open the door and walked in, his dark eyes seeming to hold shattered stars.
"Why haven't you turned on the light, young master?"
Weisheng Tou walked over to Mo Lu.
"The moonlight is lovely," Mo Lu answered quietly.
Weisheng Tou looked at the moon outside the window and found nothing particularly lovely about it.
It could not compare to Mo Lu in the slightest.
He glanced at the sandalwood incense beside Mo Lu's hand, then reached out and extinguished it.
Mo Lu frowned slightly.
"Young master, would you let me be your incense from now on?"
Weisheng Tou knelt on one knee before Mo Lu and looked up at him.
He wore an innocent smile, his already slightly downturned eyes narrowing into crescents. Tousled black strands lay across his forehead, swaying slightly with his movements.
Mo Lu looked at Weisheng Tou's face, his thin lips lightly pressed together.
Weisheng Tou really was handsome. Without a smile, his beauty held a faintly wicked edge, but now, with that utterly unguarded smile...
He looked like an adorable Samoyed.
Thinking this, Mo Lu raised a hand and rubbed Weisheng Tou's head.
It really did feel like a dog's fur, soft and pleasant to touch.
"Young master."
Rather than ducking away, Weisheng Tou leaned closer, making it easier for Mo Lu to stroke his hair, his face showing how much he enjoyed being petted.
Seeing his reaction, Mo Lu withdrew his hand as though nothing had happened and gave a quiet "Mm" in response.
The tips of his ears, however, had reddened a little.
Weisheng Tou rose and sat beside Mo Lu.
His Rose Liquor pheromones gradually replaced the heavy scent of sandalwood.
Mo Lu did not stop him.
Breathing in the intoxicating fragrance of Weisheng Tou's pheromones, he felt utterly at ease.
Outside the window, the moonlight rippled with a soft, pale glow, dim and gentle.
Listening to the insects on that summer night and breathing in Weisheng Tou's pheromones, Mo Lu actually began to feel drowsy.
"Weisheng Tou," Mo Lu said, supporting his forehead with his eyes closed, "leave enough pheromones for a few days, then go back."
"Young master, I'd like to stay with you until you fall asleep."
Weisheng Tou's husky voice blended into the rose-scented night, intimate and lingering.
Mo Lu opened his eyes and looked at Weisheng Tou.
After a long moment, he suddenly pulled Weisheng Tou toward him and kissed him on the lips.
Weisheng Tou froze for only an instant before immediately returning the kiss.
He restrained himself from touching Mo Lu, keeping his hands at Mo Lu's sides instead.
He sucked and nibbled at Mo Lu's warm, soft lips.
Mo Lu suddenly let out a quiet laugh.
"Young master?"
Weisheng Tou drew back slightly and looked at him, a little bewildered.
"Weisheng Tou, are you really a dog?"
Mo Lu licked the corner of his lips.
Who kissed by clumsily gnawing away like that?
Weisheng Tou faltered, his breathing growing heavier.
Suppressing the urge to pin Mo Lu beneath him, he cupped the back of Mo Lu's head, lowered his own, and kissed him fiercely.
Unlike his earlier caution, Weisheng Tou seemed intent on unleashing all the desire for Mo Lu that he had accumulated over the past few days.
He recklessly disrupted Mo Lu's breathing, mingling the fiery scent of alcohol with the delicate fragrance of white tea.
Mo Lu grew hot all over. Struggling to hold on to his reason, he pressed his right hand against the back of Weisheng Tou's neck.
"Young master..."
Weisheng Tou's tall frame trembled slightly, and he let out a low gasp.
Mo Lu did not respond. Suppressing the unfamiliar sensations in his body, he let black light flicker at his fingertips, and the intense Rose Liquor pheromones gathered into a pink incense cone in his hand.
"That's enough." Looking at the incense cone in his hand, Mo Lu drew back slightly from Weisheng Tou.
Suddenly finding his arms empty, Weisheng Tou felt an unbearable longing.
He was just about to lean in again when Mo Lu flicked his fingertips upward, and Weisheng Tou abruptly stood.
"Go back and recite the incantation yourself. You don't need to come at night for the next few days."
Seeing Weisheng Tou's aggrieved expression, Mo Lu felt a little amused.
But he did not indulge Weisheng Tou any further. Instead, right before his eyes, he placed the newly made pink incense cone in the incense burner beside him.
Weisheng Tou immediately gave Mo Lu a pitiful look.
Although he had never seen anyone condense pheromones so easily, nor seen pheromones turned into an incense cone, Weisheng Tou could guess what it was for.
Mo Lu had kissed him merely to collect his pheromones more efficiently.
Yet all he could think about was #ing him.
Mo Lu seemed to see what Weisheng Tou was thinking. He said coolly:
"Weisheng Tou, don't push your luck."
Acknowledging him as a bed partner was already the limit.
He would not give Weisheng Tou anything more.
"...Yes."
Weisheng Tou lowered his eyes, dejection radiating from his entire body.
Resisting the urge to soften, Mo Lu said coldly:
"Leave."
Weisheng Tou gave Mo Lu a long, searching look, then turned and left.
Watching Weisheng Tou's tall figure retreat, Mo Lu slowly let out a breath.
