When Mo Chongxi arrived, he saw Weisheng Tou leaning against the Black Heavy Motorcycle, holding his right shoulder as he waited for him.
Mo Chongxi immediately rushed over to Weisheng Tou:
"What happened to your shoulder?! My God, you-this rose scent! Are these your pheromones? This is the first time I've ever smelled pheromones! What the hell did you do?!"
As he spoke, Mo Chongxi looked around.
Corpses littered the ground.
The phrase instantly sprang into Mo Chongxi's mind.
The Lu Family's estate was still burning, and the sound of fire trucks was already coming from the distance.
Weisheng Tou patted the motorcycle behind him. "I'll have to leave Little Black in the Empire's care for now. Let's go."
Mo Chongxi asked no further questions and immediately helped Weisheng Tou into the car.
"Back to Lan Mountain Residence?" Mo Chongxi asked.
"Mm." Weisheng Tou leaned back in the passenger seat.
"Let me treat that shoulder wound," Mo Chongxi ventured.
Weisheng Tou slowly exhaled. "No need."
"Even if you're physically tough, you can't abuse yourself like this!" Mo Chongxi said.
Weisheng Tou said nothing.
He turned to look out the window, a mocking smile curling his lips.
Had he suffered any shortage of injuries over the years?
And how could these physical wounds ever be the most agonizing ones?
Driving, Mo Chongxi said, "Whatever else you say, we at least have to get the bullet out. The medical kit's right in the back."
"There's no bullet."
Weisheng Tou shifted uncomfortably.
Mo Chongxi slammed on the brakes and stopped by the roadside, turning to glare at Weisheng Tou. "You fucking-Weisheng Tou, don't tell me it went clean through!"
"Ha."
Weisheng Tou gave a careless laugh.
Mo Chongxi immediately lost it. "You! You're amazing, Weisheng Tou! You really are! You're just so damn cool! Ha!"
He had to hand it to this recklessly fearless man.
And this time, he had truly experienced just how extraordinarily resilient a Super S-Rank Alpha was.
An ordinary Alpha would have lost the use of his entire arm, and there was no way he could have sat there so calmly.
When a bullet passed straight through the body, it left a small entrance hole and a large exit wound.
Even with Weisheng Tou's extraordinary resilience, his back had to be a gruesome mess of torn flesh and blood right now.
Mo Chongxi immediately took the medicine box from the back seat and found the Coagulant inside.
But Weisheng Tou stopped him. "Mo Chongxi, I don't need treatment."
"Weisheng Tou, you've never suffered an injury like this on a mission."
Mo Chongxi's expression was grave.
Weisheng Tou stared steadily at Mo Chongxi, then suddenly gave a flippant smile:
"Mo Chongxi, you're being far too nosy. Don't tell me you like me? I'm not interested in old men."
The Coagulant in Mo Chongxi's hand dropped straight into the medical kit.
He snapped the lid shut, tossed the entire kit into the back, and floored the accelerator, speeding straight toward Lan Mountain Residence:
"Weisheng Tou, if I ever meddle with you again, my surname isn't Mo!"
In the small hours of the morning.
The moment Weisheng Tou entered Lan Mountain Residence, he spotted Ye Liang lurking in the darkness.
Pretending not to see him, he walked back to his room as though nothing had happened.
Ye Liang clenched his fists tightly.
How was this possible?!
How could it have failed?!
Was Weisheng Tou some kind of humanoid weapon?
He returned to his room in fury and called his father.
"Father!"
Ye Liang gritted his teeth.
"Ye Liang, we've lost contact with the men we sent. Has Weisheng Tou returned to Lan Mountain Residence?"
"He's already back!"
Ye Liang struggled to suppress his panic.
"Ye Liang, the Lu Family's estate has burned to the ground. The Empire has sealed off the scene. You'll have to handle everything that comes next from within the Mo Family.
"Weisheng Tou isn't as easy to deal with as we imagined. The family sent an A-rank Alpha, and we even used up an Enhancement Agent for this. We've already lost too much."
An Enhancement Agent...
Ye Liang slowly cradled his head in his hands.
They'd even used an Enhancement Agent, and still couldn't kill him.
Fear welled up from the depths of Ye Liang's heart.
"Ye Liang? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Ye Liang's father sensed something was wrong.
Ye Liang struggled to keep the tremor out of his voice. "It's nothing, Father. How are things going with the Weisheng Family?"
"We're already putting pressure on them."
Ye Liang's father frowned.
They had been targeting the Weisheng Family both openly and covertly over the past few days, yet the Weisheng Family remained outrageously arrogant.
Still, the Ye Family had underworld roots, and plenty of ruthless thugs under its command. They had indeed made the Weisheng Family suffer somewhat.
Ye Liang clenched both fists.
He forced himself to steady his nerves and said, "Understood, Father."
He hung up.
In just a few more hours, Young Master Mo Lu would learn of the Lu Family's destruction.
And Weisheng Tou was back, too.
Would he know I was the one who sent people to kill him?
At the thought, Ye Liang punched the bedpost.
Damn it.
The mountain morning was as fresh and pristine as ever, tiny wisps of cloud forming little white waves in the clear, pale blue sky.
But the atmosphere in the Front Hall was nowhere near as lovely as the morning outside.
Mo Lu frowned at Weisheng Tou and Ye Liang, who stood respectfully before him.
He felt that ever since Weisheng Tou had arrived at Lan Mountain Residence, his once peaceful life, as tranquil as an old monk's in the mountains, had suddenly changed.
He rubbed his temples and said, "Tell me, then. How did the Lu Family get wiped out?"
Ye Liang's palms had been sweating the entire time, but he still answered immediately, "I saw Weisheng Tou go out last night."
Weisheng Tou offered no defense. He simply stood there quietly with his head lowered.
"Weisheng Tou."
Mo Lu shifted his gaze to Weisheng Tou.
Weisheng Tou's lips moved, but he remained silent.
Mo Lu studied Weisheng Tou, finding him strange no matter how he looked at him.
Despite the midsummer heat, Weisheng Tou was wearing a leather jacket over his black tank top.
And there was that smell of blood again.
Blood, yet again.
Mo Lu already understood. He said coldly, "Take off your jacket."
Weisheng Tou did not move.
Silence filled the hall.
Mo Lu stared at Weisheng Tou with his peach blossom eyes, saying nothing.
As though unable to withstand Mo Lu's icy gaze, Weisheng Tou finally took his jacket off slowly.
Standing beside him, Ye Liang caught sight of the horrific wound on Weisheng Tou's right shoulder, and his breath caught-He'd endured an entire night with that injury! Was he even human?!
Beads of cold sweat began to trickle down Weisheng Tou's forehead.
Mo Lu looked at the flesh and blood torn away by the leather jacket, then at the gaping wound that had already begun to fester. His pale fingers tightened involuntarily around his chair's armrest.
He steadied his breathing slightly and asked in an icy voice, "Who hurt you?"
Weisheng Tou pressed his lips together and said nothing.
Beside him, Ye Liang suddenly had a bad feeling, so he immediately said, "He probably got hurt at the Lu Family's estate."
Mo Lu glanced at Ye Liang.
Ye Liang kept his head down, trying hard to remain calm, not daring to look at Mo Lu.
Mo Lu slowly asked again, "Someone from the Lu Family hurt you?"
Weisheng Tou hesitated before answering, "...Yes..."
Ye Liang quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
But Mo Lu immediately frowned. "You're lying."
Ye Liang's heart leaped into his throat again.
Weisheng Tou looked up at Mo Lu, a trace of hurt on his face. "If I tell you, will you help me, Young Master?"
Mo Lu looked at Weisheng Tou. After a moment, he sighed softly. "Tell me first."
Weisheng Tou was silent for a long while before saying, "I think... it was the Ye Family."
Ye Liang jerked his head up to stare at Weisheng Tou. "Weisheng Tou, you need evidence before you make accusations! What reason would I have to do this to you?"
Before you continue
