"Well, well, well. Who was it who refused to let me treat him, even if it killed him?"
Mo Chongxi looked at Weisheng Tou sitting on the hospital bed, his face full of mockery.
"Shut up."
Weisheng Tou's face was murderous.
Mo Chongxi pursed his lips, not daring to provoke him at a time like this.
He quietly took out his tools to clean Weisheng Tou's wound.
"Young Master Mo did treat you after all, didn't he?"
Mo Chongxi carefully examined Weisheng Tou's wound.
Although it looked bloody and gruesome, the inside had actually almost healed. Only the flesh wound remained.
Only Witchcraft could have made Weisheng Tou recover so much overnight.
Modern medicine could never work a miracle like that.
Weisheng Tou looked at Mo Chongxi and answered with a thoroughly disgruntled grunt:
"Mm."
Mo Chongxi sat on a swivel chair, carefully cleaning Weisheng Tou's wound, but his mouth kept complaining:
"Unbelievable. Then why did he stop halfway through? Couldn't he get the job done?"
"Mo Chongxi, do you want to lose your tongue too?"
Weisheng Tou's voice was low.
How could Mo Lu possibly be incapable?
He had felt it himself.
Besides, even if Mo Lu really couldn't, it was enough that he could.
Mo Chongxi glanced up at Weisheng Tou and continued cleaning the wound as he rambled, "Oh, right. Never say an Alpha can't perform..."
"Shut up."
Weisheng Tou slapped the back of Mo Chongxi's head.
"Hey, Weisheng Tou! If my hand shakes, you're the one who'll suffer!"
Weisheng Tou sneered. "Quack. You can't even treat a little wound without making it hurt."
Mo Chongxi: Huh??
Weisheng Tou turned his head away, refusing to look at Mo Chongxi anymore.
"All right, time for stitches. Front and back."
Mo Chongxi took out his suturing tools.
Weisheng Tou frowned. "Will it leave a scar?"
Mo Chongxi looked at him, so speechless that he laughed. "What do you think?"
"No scars," Weisheng Tou said coldly.
"Even a god would leave a scar with a hole that big!"
The sight of Weisheng Tou's sour expression infuriated Mo Chongxi.
Weisheng Tou shifted his upper body slightly to show Mo Chongxi.
Mo Chongxi said, "Why are you making such a sleazy move at me? I'm not interested in kids!"
Weisheng Tou: ...
"Fine, I get it, your Young Master Mo Lu is a god... Then go find Young Master Mo! Don't come to me!"
Mo Chongxi held the anesthetic.
Weisheng Tou remained silent, his face dark.
Mo Chongxi pursed his lips and jabbed the anesthetic straight into Weisheng Tou. "There. Now it won't hurt."
Weisheng Tou: ...
Mo Chongxi deftly finished stitching him up.
Weisheng Tou looked at his centipede-like scar, frowned, and ordered Mo Chongxi in a deeply disgruntled tone:
"Find me somewhere to stay."
Mo Chongxi cleared away the medical waste. "Huh? Well, well. Young Master Mo's bedmate-did the bed split in half today?"
Hearing Mo Chongxi's words, Weisheng Tou finally ran out of patience. He took two deep breaths, stood up, and headed straight for the door.
"Wait."
Mo Chongxi suddenly stopped him, his expression turning serious.
"What?"
Weisheng Tou looked back impatiently, his gaze sharp enough to kill.
Seeing the murderous look in Weisheng Tou's eyes, Mo Chongxi immediately realized he had taken the joke too far.
He gave an awkward laugh and said:
"Weisheng Tou, wait until the people from the Empire get here before you leave. If they can't find you at Lan Mountain Residence, they'll definitely come looking here.
"You'll have to see them either way, so you might as well wait here."
Weisheng Tou looked at Mo Chongxi. After a long moment, he returned to the room and sat down.
"What do you want for lunch?"
Mo Chongxi threw away his medical gloves.
"Anything."
Weisheng Tou stretched his long legs out on the sofa and lay down.
Sure enough, people from the Empire arrived that afternoon.
Weisheng Tou sat in the reception room of Mo Chongxi's private clinic, looking at the General surrounded by fully armed imperial soldiers.
"What's all this supposed to be?"
Weisheng Tou smiled mockingly.
These people looked ready to put on gas masks.
Who were they guarding against?
"Weisheng Tou. This is yours, isn't it?"
The General who had previously visited the Mo Family took out a badge in a transparent sealed bag and held it out to Weisheng Tou.
"Yes."
Weisheng Tou lounged lazily on the sofa.
"According to our intelligence, the Empire never ordered you to kill members of the Lu Family. Why did you go?"
"I felt like it, so I went. What other reason do you need?"
Weisheng Tou tilted his head.
"Weisheng Tou, you haven't completed a single task the Empire assigned you, yet you chose this moment to kill the Lu Family?"
The General leaned forward slightly, his tone hostile.
Weisheng Tou looked at the General before him, abandoning his earlier languid manner.
He leaned toward the Colonel before him, his lips curling in mockery:
"Hadn't the Lu Family already offended you? Heh. What? I did you a huge favor, and instead of getting on your knees to thank me, you're barking at me?"
Seeing Weisheng Tou's attitude, the Imperial Special Forces soldiers standing behind the General immediately chambered rounds.
"Heh."
Weisheng Tou sneered at their movements.
Watching from the side, Mo Chongxi broke out in a sweat.
The General looked at Weisheng Tou and paused slightly.
He took a deep breath and said sternly, "Weisheng Tou, you have a contract with the Empire. I hope you haven't forgotten that!"
"Oh, sure. That's why I entered the Mo Family on a mission."
Weisheng Tou spread his hands and said casually,
"But haven't I been kicked out? Why don't you send someone else?"
"Weisheng Tou!" The General was furious, but he did not dare make a move.
"My dear General," Weisheng Tou raised a hand and brushed nonexistent dust off the General, his lips curling into a wicked smile. "It couldn't have been easy to reach your position. Don't let a little disagreement make this the end of the road for you."
The General stared fixedly at him.
"As for killing the Lu Family, consider it my gift to the Empire. And I'll throw in another piece of information for free.
"Lu Yunsheng got in touch with someone named Lawrence. Take a guess-is this Lawrence the same Lawrence you're thinking of?"
At the name, the General's expression instantly darkened.
The Lawrences were a Warlock Family in the Federation.
If the Lu Family really had made contact with people from the Federation, the implications would be enormous.
"What do you want?"
The General enunciated each word.
Weisheng Tou leaned back against the sofa, his expression cold. "I want the Empire to clarify the relationship between the Mo Family and the Lu Family. I don't want to see a single piece of public speculation about this.
"If I do, however much damage the Mo Family's reputation suffers, I'll make the Empire pay it back in full."
The General's face was grim.
Weisheng Tou had killed too many people for the Empire and knew too many of its secrets.
He did not dare take that gamble.
"Understood. We'll do as you ask," the General conceded.
Weisheng Tou tossed Lu Yunsheng's Communication Band to the General.
The General immediately caught the Communication Band and carefully put it away.
"Get lost."
Weisheng Tou looked at them lazily.
The General rose with a dark expression and said to Weisheng Tou:
"Weisheng Tou, the Empire hopes you can enter the Mo Family again."
Weisheng Tou lifted his eyes slightly to look at the Colonel, his gaze as vicious as a venomous snake.
The General had wanted to say more, but under Weisheng Tou's oppressive presence, he could not get a word out.
Forcing down the fear rising from deep within him, he turned and strode away.
Only after they had all left did Mo Chongxi breathe a sigh of relief.
He looked at Weisheng Tou. "Why did you just give them Lu Yunsheng's Communication Band?"
Before you continue
