When Mo Lu woke up, it was already the middle of the night.
It was the first time he had ever collapsed from exhaustion twice in one day.
His Witch Power was still depleted, but he had slept with an extraordinary sense of comfort and security.
Except...
Mo Lu stared blankly at the bare chest before him.
A firm arm was pillowed beneath his head.
The familiar scent of roses filled his nose.
Above him, Weisheng Tou breathed evenly.
But Weisheng Tou was still burning hot all over. His earlier fever had yet to break.
Mo Lu shifted his legs slightly.
Weisheng Tou's thigh pinned him down, and his arm encircled him, leaving him unable to move.
Was he treating me like some kind of body pillow?
With no other choice, Mo Lu stopped moving.
When he lowered his eyes, however, he spotted a stone resting against his chest.
It was a pink Oath Stone.
A bad feeling rose in Mo Lu's heart.
He probed the stone with his Witch Power.
Weisheng Tou's vow to "never hurt him" immediately surfaced in Mo Lu's mind.
Mo Lu clutched the Oath Stone, somewhat speechless.
Grandpa must have done this.
Only Grandpa would pull these old-fashioned "romantic" tricks.
Grandma had had one back in the day, and Grandpa would often bring it out, seemingly casually, to show off to the whole family.
Grandma indulged him and let him do as he pleased.
But all those solemn vows, all that "I'll love you forever"...
Hah.
Even with an Oath Stone, Mo Lu would never place his hopes or expectations in something so useless.
He was more accustomed to relying on himself.
Mo Lu closed his eyes and began slowly regulating his breathing in Weisheng Tou's arms, replenishing his Witch Power.
Yet he immediately sensed the Curse Technique Grandpa had cast on him.
It was actually a Protective Mantra of the highest level.
Mo Lu was puzzled.
What exactly had these two been doing while I was asleep?
Why had they suddenly cast this kind of Curse Technique on me?
Mo Lu frowned.
"...Young master..."
It was Weisheng Tou's voice.
Mo Lu looked up and met a pair of eyes still hazy with sleep.
"You're awake."
Though Mo Lu was still held captive in Weisheng Tou's arms, his expression remained calm and composed.
Looking at Mo Lu's aloof expression, Weisheng Tou tightened the hand already resting around his waist.
Mo Lu's entire body was abruptly pressed against his.
Something was pressing into him.
Mo Lu stiffened.
"Weisheng Tou, what's wrong with you? Didn't I teach you the Heart-Clearing Mantra?"
A faint anger showed on Mo Lu's face.
There was also a barely discernible trace of flustered embarrassment.
"Young master, I've used up all my Witch Power... Reciting it won't help."
Weisheng Tou sounded a little aggrieved.
Mo Lu raised a hand and pressed it between his brows, only to discover that not a single drop of the Witch Power he had left him remained.
Mo Lu: ...
It's only been a few days!
"Young master..."
Weisheng Tou buried his face in the crook of Mo Lu's neck and deeply inhaled the white tea fragrance on him.
Mo Lu shifted uncomfortably, trying to put a little distance between himself and Weisheng Tou.
"Young master, don't move."
Weisheng Tou's voice was low and hoarse.
Mo Lu immediately went still.
They were pressed too close together, white tea and rose wine intertwining.
Weisheng Tou let out a low chuckle.
"Young master, can I take that to mean you want to as well...?"
Mo Lu's breath caught, and he bit down hard on his lip.
Author's note: This book was locked and had to undergo extensive revisions. I edited so much that the chapters no longer met the minimum word count for posting, so this section is here to pad it out. I'm really sorry to everyone reading this later. I didn't want to change so much either, but it violated the rules... Damn it.
Just padding the word count. Aaaaaah. I've changed so much that I really don't know what else to do. I deleted so many plot points. I'll never dare write like this again o(╥﹏╥)o
