Steven pointed at himself, looking utterly bewildered.
"You're saying I'm the most famous chef in the world?"
Li Wei was stunned too.
Were they really such big shots in this world?
Byron had no idea why Li Wei and Steven looked so shocked, but he explained anyway:
"Yes, Mr. Steven. Everyone knows about your accomplishments, not to mention how you work overtime on the front lines every day."
"Didn't you once work thirty-three days straight and nearly go into shock, then go right back to working overtime after they saved you?"
"Everyone praises you for pouring your heart and soul into Hoenn."
The corner of Steven's mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.
Terrifying memories flooded back.
He really had come within a hair's breadth of death.
For a moment, Steven had no idea what to say.
He couldn't help thinking,
My otherworldly self, thank you for your hard work.
Right then, Steven made a solemn vow.
Overtime?! Not a chance!
Li Wei rubbed his chin. On second thought, it made sense.
Even setting aside working himself to death, when had Steven ever shirked his responsibilities as Champion, despite his love of mining?
Whenever he needed to step up, he had never backed down.
But working thirty-three days straight...
That was just absurd.
Even the most hardcore workaholic wouldn't dare push that hard.
Byron turned to Li Wei and nodded. "You're ranked first in the directory of renowned chefs, though you look a little younger than your photograph."
As for this world's Byron and Roark, they got along wonderfully.
They were nothing like the father and son Steven and Li Wei knew, who started arguing whenever they got together.
Still, that could be considered their way of showing affection.
