The annual Alola Bread Festival Carnival was held here, and it was one of the Alola Region's major events.
Li Wei was actually a little puzzled. Why did people in the Alola Region love bread so much?

so he certainly had grounds to comment on that.
People in the Alola Region liked bread for breakfast, bread for lunch, and bread for dinner...
And there were all sorts of bread.
Some were like baguettes, while others were soft and fluffy.
The main selling point was that you could find anything here.
Hau'oli City had plenty of bakeries, almost as many as the cafés in the Kalos Region.
And today,
the Alola Bread Festival Carnival
opened in grand style on Hau'oli City's Seaside Boulevard, turning the entire street into a sea of bread.
Arcanine twitched his nose. The air was filled with the enticing aromas of wheat, butter, and all kinds of fillings.
Li Wei warned him, "You can't go running off later. There are a lot of people here."
Cynthia had lost interest in attending the bread festival, so Li Wei originally hadn't planned to come.
But Mallow and the others were all taking part, and Arcanine, Zeraora, and the others were quite interested too.
So Li Wei decided to set aside a day for it.

A Pokémon Arcanine's size was already the largest companion allowed along Seaside Boulevard.
Anyone hoping to stroll around with a Steelix or Gyarados was out of luck.
Bagels, croissants, sausage bread, pineapple buns, baguettes... the dazzling assortment of bread was almost too much to take in.
This was a pure celebration of carbs.
