By mealtime, the restaurant had filled with customers.
At the table next to Ash and his friends
sat a young couple with their child.
Their little boy, still a baby, pressed his face against the glass and giggled as he watched the Pancham outside.
On the other side sat several Trainers, excitedly discussing the match Li Wei had just finished at the Battle Tower.
In one corner of the restaurant, tourists were always lining up to take pictures with a life-size Pancham plush.
The dishes arrived one after another, their charming, intricate presentation drawing delighted cries from Mallow and Lana.
"I have to take pictures! I have to take pictures!"
Mallow couldn't resist, either.
The moment the lid came off the bamboo rice, the aroma of sticky rice mingled with the scent of cured pork and fresh bamboo.
The panda-shaped red bean buns looked so lifelike.
"Sorry!"
Mallow could barely bring herself to bite into one.
"It's so good! My heart is blazing like Wela Volcano!"
One bite of the Scorching Ramen fired Kiawe up again, and he cried out in delight.
Just as everyone was digging in,
a commotion in the bamboo grove outside drew more people's attention.
A slightly larger Pancham that looked like the little group's leader solemnly struck a fighting stance.

The Pancham swung his stubby arms.
"Are they putting on a show?"
The restaurant manager happened to hear the question while passing by and explained with a smile:
"We don't arrange any performances. They're showing off the results of their training."
Seeing that he had caught the attention of the people inside, the lead Pancham grew even more enthusiastic.
He performed several kicks he considered incredibly cool, then smugly folded his arms.
