The new year's Professor Rowan Pokémon Summer Camp got off to a smooth start after the opening ceremony.
Unlike previous years, however, the campers did not each have to pick up a Pokémon on the first day.
Professor Rowan gave them a different assignment.
"Observe the Pokémon at the Little Ranch, the Grassland, and along Sky Lake, then report back tonight."
"To all our Summer Camp instructors, sorry for the trouble, but please answer their questions along the way."
This was another adjustment Professor Rowan had made based on the campers' ages.
Ash, Dawn, Korrina, and the other Trainers already had Pokémon of their own. What they needed now was a deeper understanding of Pokémon.
The corners of Blue's mouth lifted. "No problem."
Red lowered the brim of his cap. "Leave it to me."
Sensing the open and subtle rivalry between the two,
Lorelei shook her head helplessly.
"Those two... can they really turn even this into a competition?"
"No, wait. It would be stranger if they didn't compete."
Lorelei suddenly understood.
The two were both close friends and fierce rivals.
They liked to compete over anything and everything,
especially when Pokémon were involved.
"Steven, how about we..."
Lorelei stopped midsentence.
Fighting spirit burned in Steven's eyes.
When Lorelei looked at Steven, she realized he was just as fired up. So she was the only one planning to slack off?!

Lorelei's fighting spirit blazed.
Passing by, Li Wei's dad, Leon, widened his eyes involuntarily. "Holy shit, they're fired up!"
Wen Hui frowned. "What's fired up?"
Dayou nodded with a solemn air.
"They really are fired up."
"Roar!"
Incineroar nodded.

Mizuki quipped, "Uh... I guess only people with that same blazing, overdramatic spirit can see
