It wasn't that the Puppeteer had taken control of Mo Yu, but that Mo Yu himself hadn't realized he was being controlled.
But the vicious possessiveness buried in his bones couldn't lie.
The moment he saw Shen Ru burst into view in a wedding dress, Mo Yu's consciousness had begun a fierce, violent struggle. No matter what, he couldn't tolerate Shen Ru becoming someone else's bride.

He needed to stoke the man's fury, to stain that calm, restrained face with hatred and fear.
Shen Ru gazed quietly at the person before him, his red eyes brimming with boundless affection and tenderness.
That gaze, as deep as an abyss, met Shen Ru's eyes directly, and an intimate tension instantly flowed between them.
Shen Ru fluttered his lashes. His voice was languid, edged with a seductive danger, as he slowly brought his lips toward the man's thin ones until only a sliver of space remained:
"Wake up."
"Or I'll kiss him."
What Shen Ru meant was obvious.
The person before him, who looked exactly like Mo Yu, wasn't Mo Yu himself, but a manifestation of the Puppeteer's consciousness.
If Mo Yu didn't respond, he would have to watch his lover kiss another man inside his own consciousness.
Shen Ru was forcing his hand.
Just as the young man was truly about to move closer, the other man suddenly reached out and pushed him away.
Those dark eyes slowly began to lighten, and the figure before him grew indistinct, as though two different souls were frantically tugging and struggling against each other.
