Shen Ru survived a succession of brutal Instances while uncovering hidden experiments, the Underground Palace, and the system’s control over Players. The volume ended with Shen Ru accusing Gu Changming of being a villain after finding him with the Human Elimination Plan.
- Shen Ru cleared the convenience store Instance and joined Mo Yu in the Secret Garden Tea Party, where they discovered the rose experiments and found Guan Wenyue.
- Shen Ru and Mo Yu destroyed Guan Wenyue’s immortal rose project, and Shen Ru killed the Butler and the players Mr. Leon demanded before clearing the Tea Party.
- Shen Ru escaped the mental hospital Instance with Mo Yu and the other Players after discovering its shifting rules concealed a controlled experiment.
- Shen Ru and Liang Yu investigated the Fourth Floor and realized that her Fifth Floor origin meant they had broken every listed rule.
- Shen Ru joined Mo Yu and Sheng Ziyao in the island school Instance and uncovered the children’s horrors and the Underground Palace’s connection to the school.
- Shen Ru learned that the Palace served several groups and that the Players had been singled out for a visit to Daddy.
- Shen Ru survived the Human Pig film and the cruise ship’s deadly purge, while Mo Yu revealed his plan to break down the channel barriers and court him.
- Shen Ru joined Gu Changming’s level-up Instance, then caught him with the Human Elimination Plan and accused him of being a villain.
